There is nothing I can do but wait for someone to find me. I could try to scream at the top of my lungs, but all I would be left with is a sore throat.

I pick up the small table and place it in the corner that gives me the best view, not just of the room but also of the outside. I take a step toward the small stool when notice one of the floorboards has risen slightly.

The table must have hidden it from sight. Let’s see what’s underneath it.Acadia says.

The floorboard is easily lifted out of its place and I find package covered with cloth. I place it on the table as I sit down on the floor, my back leaning against the wall and slowly pull the fabric to the side.

Inside the fabric are four journals, a golden locket and a baby’s dress. The color of the dress has faded over time and there is no way of telling what color it once had been.

The locket is ovalshaped with the tree of life carved in it and a plain back. I open it to find two pictures inside the locket. One image shows a couple, presumably the Alpha and Luna, while the other picture features the Luna with a small girl beside her.

I open the journals one by one to determine which one holds the beginning of this story; it turns out to be the journal at the bottom of the stack.

I need to write down my story in case I am stuck here for the rt of my life, however long that may be.

My name is Mahina Deveron and I am the Daughter of Alpha Koa and Luna Keola.

I always thought that loving and doting parents raised me with my best friend by my side, who had my back through every turn in life and that I was surrounded by Packmembers who respected my family and cared for me.

Were my parents loving and doting? Yes, they were. They always put my best interests before their own and would take the time to listen to my worries

Were our Packmembers respectful and caring? Yes, they were, But they were also smart enough to realize that out of two bad situations, you pick the lesser one.

Was my best friend the friend I thought he was? No, he wasn’t he and his family betrayed my family and the trust we put in them. They took everything from me, the night I turned ighteen and I am slowly losing hope of ever getting my life back.

Acadia is pacing in the back of my head, growling softly at every turn she makes. I want to know what happened to this girl and her family and maybe get some justice for them.

Mom had organized a party on the evening before my eighteenth birthday, because at midnight. I would shift for the first time and she wanted everyone to witness it. Dad was called away by his Beta to attend to a minor issue teith another Puck and Mom collapsed as midnight approached.

I felt the pain as Dad’s connection to ine was broken and I time wasn’t fast enough and I watched as our Beta female slice

stood in an instant what had happened. My reaction her throat in front of the entire Pack.

My best friend held onto me as I started to shift, but I wasn’t perpared for the shot of Evlehover he gave me. Stopping me from shifting and getting revenge for my parents. I don’t remember much from that moment on, but I do remember one

thing.

I remember Beta Jacan telling our Pack that he killed my Father and anyone who tried to help me would face the same fate. Our Packmembers chose to stand down and save their lies and those of their families.

Ihen I woke up. I found myself in this tiny room with no way out. Warrior would bring me food every day and inform me how many days had passed since the party. It was my only way to keep track of time,

Once I get out of here, I will ask Alpha Lincoln to help me find out what the Beta family told the rest of the Kingdom. I want to find out if anyone ever suspected anything or maybe I should just keep reading her journals

Today, the Warrior handed me this journal and a pen. I found note inside, instructing me to loosen a floorboard and hide the journal underneath, while using the table to keep anyone from seeing the hiding place.

It has been six months since Jude gave me that shot of Evlehover and I am finally able to sense my Shifter half. I have learned to read the signs the Warrior gives me and it is easy to see which foods are laced with Evlehover. The more I can avoid eating it, the sooner I will get my Shifter half and maybe start to plot my revenge.

I keep reading Mahina’s journal and it becomes clear that she spent many years locked in this room with minimal contact to the outside world.

My eyes start to burn from reading and from fighting my sleep. I want to know what happened to her and if she ever got her revenge on the Beta family. It is dark outside, so I make myself comfortable and drift off to sleep.

up as the sun starts to rise and grab the journal to continue reading it, while I wait for someone to

rescue me.

It has been two years since that fateful night and I haven’t seen anyone from the Beta family. I have been getting visits from an Omega for the past few months; she doesn’t say anything but keeps me company as I eat my meals. Maybe one day I will find the courage to ask her what is happening in the Packhouse.

I don’t know what happened, but the door didn’t lock after my visitor left with the dishes. I decided to take it easy and sit down outside the door. From where I was sitting, I couldn’t see a way off the roof and didn’t want to alert anyone to my open door by walking around.

The door only gets locked after dinner and I am getting stronger by the day as I am no longer surrounded by the Eulehover every second of the day. Lana, my Lycan, expects to be able to shift in a few days, if we get the chance to leave the room every day.

We did it. Today, we shifted for the first time and it felt amazing. Now, we need to start planning for the future.
