PART-178
Logan
“How are you feeling now, love?” I asked Tessa who was awake.
“My head feels heavy but other than that I want to go home because I miss my kids.” She replied with a pouted as I fed her chicken and oats porridge.
Luckily, the injury wasn’t serious and there were no issues with her brain. The swelling was reducing.
“You’ll be discharged tomorrow. So, be patient for one more night.” I said and wiped her lips.
“Lena’s birthday should have been memorable but it turned into a bad memory.” Her voice was sad.
“Hey, look at me. Why are you feeling stressed? It was Raelynn, the psychopath who did it and now she is under police custody. My lawyers are preparing a serious lawsuit against her.” I told her.
She smiled faintly.
“I still can’t believe how she entered our house. I am sure someone helped her. Someone close to us who knew the security details.” She said.
I narrowed my eyes because her words made sense.
“Could it be my sister or mother because they are the only two persons who want to see you gone from my life.” I assumed.
She shook her head.
“I am not accusing them directly. It could be just anyone. Perhaps someone from house staff or security. We need to be more discreet and find this mole but till then let’s keep it to ourselves. At this point, I don’t trust anyone.” She said leaning on my shoulder.
“I understand and don’t worry my eyes and ears are open.” I kissed her hairs.
We laid in silence. It had been two days since the incident my time was divided between the kids and hospital. I brought them to meet her twice in a day but my kids were understanding, they knew their mother needed rest and they promised her to take care of each other.
“Tess.”
“Hmm..”
“I have to go now. The kids are alone at home. Your bodyguards are outside. If you need anything, just let them know.” I said while adjusting the blankets over her body.
“Don’t worry about me and also take care of yourself. You look like a zombie. Tell me when the last time you slept.” She caressed my cheek.
“I will sleep properly once you come home because I can’t sleep without you anymore.” I said kissing her lips softly.
“Me too.” A smile spread on her lips.
After instructing the security team and medical staff to follow safety protocols, I went home.
It was around nine when I entered the quiet house.

“Where are the kids?” I asked Kelly who was waiting for me in the living room.
“I tucked Lena in her bed. She’s fallen asleep. Logan was doing his homework when I checked upon him last time. He must be asleep by now as well.” She told me.
“I had my dinner at the hospital. So, you can go and rest now.” I said to her.
“Good night, Sir. Please, rest well.” She bowed and left.
I dragged my tired body to Lena’s room first. She was in deep sleep so without disturbing her, I opened the next door and peeked inside. Logan was sitting on his study desk, his head lowered.
By judging his expressions, I could tell that he was sad and bothered.
I silently entered the room but he sensed my presence and looked up.
“Dad, when did you come?” He asked looking surprised to find me.
“Just now. Aren’t you feeling sleepy?” I asked dragging the chair close to him and sat down.
He looked away and then my eyes fell on a shiny object in his hand.
“What is it? Can I have a look at it?” I asked and he placed it on my palm, his face reflected guilt if I wasn’t wrong.
