Goodbye, Mr. Ex-Husband, I Won't Come Back novel Chapter 181

Tessa

“Do you need any help, love?”

“No, it’s almost done. Please, go and check if the kids are still clean. Everyone must be coming. Go hurry up.” I tilted my head slightly to glance at my husband while grilling fish. The spicy smoke filled the kitchen.

“The kids are clean and busy among themselves, besides, Lucas can take care of his younger siblings. I would rather take care of my pretty wife here.” He said and dabbed my sweaty face with towel.

“You helped me to cook half of the food, Logan. Please, go and shower. I’ll be finish in ten minutes.” I smiled.

He snaked his arms around my waist from behind and nuzzled his nose in the crook of my neck.

“I can wait so we’ll shower together to save time and water, Mrs. Wilferd.” He whispered.

My stomach flipped but I slowly freed myself from his embrace.

“As much as the idea sounds perfectly romantic, I fear we can’t bath together because the we won’t be able to finish it on time and our guests are on their way here.” I pecked his cheek.

He looked displeased.

“Come on, it’s been five days since I have a taste of you.” He expressed his desires boldly without any filter and my eyes practically bulged out of their sockets.

“Logan! Kids might hear you.” I smacked his chest but my cheeks were red.

“I need you, Theresa Wilferd. Is it a crime to feel need for one’s own wife?” He locked his arms around my waist again.

I switched off the stove and turned to face him.

“I was on my periods for first three days and then Theo fell sick. You can’t be grumpy and…” I adjusted his collar, “I have a surprise for you but you need to be patient until night, okay.”

His eyes darkened.

“Tessa, don’t tease me.” He pulled me closer.

“Patience bears the sweetest fruit, husband.” I pecked his lips but he deepened it.

“Eww! Mamma, Daddy, you are eating each other’s face again.”

Lena’s giggles forced us to pull away before the kiss got heated. Our daughter was standing at the kitchen door, her clothes soiled in dirt with her soft toy.

“Your kids are clean and dressed well?” I crossed my arms and faced my husband.

“They were well dressed and perfect when I left them.” He rushed to Lena and picked her.

“How did you get yourself dirty, princess?” He asked her softly.

“I and Luke were chasing Jerry and slipped on mud.” She confessed with a cheeky grin.

“And Theo, where is he?” I asked about our one year old son.

“He is with granny Kelly.” She answered and I heaved a sigh of relief.

“I’ll go and clean them. Please, don’t get mad at them.” Logan pleaded me and they scurried away.

I shook my head. A smile crept on my lips.

It had been fifteen months since Raelynn and Adrian were arrested and jailed for their crimes. I was shocked and beyond broken when I learnt about Adrian’s betrayal but then I couldn’t ignore the warning signs.

I always felt that he had feelings for me and I clarified it many times that we couldn’t be more than friends.

Logan was by side in the lowest phase of my life. He proved his love and dedication in our marriage. A year ago, our wounds were healed by Theodore, our youngest child. He completed our family and we decided not to have more kids and raise our three kids with love and good morals.

Once I made sure that all the food was prepared and set, I went to take a quick shower and change my clothes.

It was mine and Logan’s tenth wedding anniversary.

Time flew so fast, we had our ups and downs, our fall out and reunion but our love only grew deeper and stronger after every test we passed.

“Oh! Wow, how could we not see this breathtaking place before?” Amanda, our first guest exclaimed looking around, behind her was Felix holding their son’s hand.
