Goodbye, Mr. Ex-Husband, I Won't Come Back novel Chapter 177

Logan

Tessa was gone into the house for two long. I waited and smiled at the guests because I didn’t want them to whisper and gossip as it was my daughter’s most special day and I wanted to make it memorable for her.

But it took Tessa more than ten minutes. She told me about her mother’s necklace. She kept it in her cupboard.

Something inside me nudged me to go and check upon her. Although, we had checked the security many times and guest list was filtered by my security team yet we could be careless, especially when my family had been targeted many times.

“Dad, manage the guests and kids here. I am going to check upon Tessa.” I whispered to my father.

“Sure, go and get her because Lena is getting impatient.” He said with a nod.

I made my way inside the house which was quiet since Tessa called the security guards during the cake cutting. She cared for everyone.

“Tess?” I called her but no response came so I directly went to her room where she kept most of her stuffs.

I slowly pushed the door open and when I saw the scene in front of me, my eyes widened in horror. Tessa was on the floor, her face smeared in blood, barely conscious but when my eyes landed on the person standing next to her with a knife in her hand, my instincts immediately kicked in.

“Raelynn!” I roared and rushed to catch her before she could hurt my wife.

“Logan, leave me. I will kill this bitch. She has ruined my life.” She yelled and wiggled to get out of my hold.

“Security!” I shouted.

“Logan, let me get rid of her. She has stolen everything from me. She took you, she took my son. I will end her chapter today.” She was screaming.

Meanwhile, my guards rushed in and she was taken under security. Her eyes were red.

I quickly knelt down to pick Tessa. My heart was hammering against my ribcage with fear.

“Tess, baby, wake up.” I patted her cheek and cradled her in my arms.

She slowly opened her eyes, her breathing was shallow.

“Logan…” She whispered my name before she fainted.

“Someone called ambulance!” I picked her in my arms and ran out of the house.

The birthday party I planned for a week turned into a nightmare.

The ambulance and police arrived in no time and the paramedic team took her inside.

“Dad, what happened to Mom?” Lucas was panicked to see Tessa.

“She’s fine. Listen to me, Luke. Please, stay with Lena, okay. She’s small and she don’t understand this.” I said to my son who wasn’t much older himself.
