Chapter 164 Moving to The City She Likes
Natalie’s POV, Age 18-25
Meros
I am finally getting the hell out of this cursed city. Coming to Vegas for fun and being raised in Vegas are two completely different realities. People who vacation here gush endlessly about how incredible it is, while those of us who actually live here despise the relentless heat, the gridlocked roads, the crime, and the constant flood of tourists. It is a terrible place to grow up, especially when the most popular guy in school–the one I went on a single date with two years ago–decides to tell everyone that we went all the way and that I supposedly give amazing head.
Overnight, I become well–known for all the wrong reasons. Every guy suddenly wants access to me, and every girl turns against me. The girls who were once my closest friends instantly become enemies ranked one, two, and three. After spending three exhausting months trying to defend my reputation, I completely withdraw from everyone.
The first two boys who ask me out assume that I am going to sleep with them. When I explain that
Roman lied and that I never even let him go past first base, it only makes things worse. The first guy
reacts angrily, just like Roman did, and he spreads another rumor claiming I slept with him. The
second guy takes a different approach. He pretends to be kind and convinces me that he does not believe any of the gossip. I trust hĥapter Unlocked Enjoy Reading not have.

He tells people that I did not sleep with him, but he claims I gave him a blow job and that I was
incredible at it. At least no one is saying I was bad, but I turn into the girl that other guys use as a
comparison. On multiple occasions, girls confront me, accusing me of performing sexual favors for their boyfriends. They say their boyfriends rub it in their faces that I am better. I try desperately to convince them none of it is true, but they refuse to believe me.
By the third month of my sophomore year, I shut myself off completely. I go to school, eat lunch alone in the library, and then head straight home. I work after school as a waitress at a local diner and return home afterward. I do not attend parties, school dances, or dates. Because of this isolation, I become Valedictorian and earn a full scholarship to the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I choose to major in English and Journalism.
My first year of college is incredible. I meet an amazing girl named Scarlett, and we become inseparable almost immediately. Her parents are wonderful people. I develop a small crush on her dad and her Uncle Hale. I adore her mother and wish she were my own. My own mother never comes to
visit, and I am completely fine with that.
Scar never meets her even once. I spend every holiday with Scar and her family. I party far more than Scar ever does because I am making up for everything I missed in high school. I also lose my virginity to a fraternity brother and never regret it. During that first year, I experiment freely. I participate in a threesome. I date a girl for a month, and the relationship would have continued if I had not walked in

on her giving a random guy a blow job when I stop by her dorm one night. I even have public sex in the
college library. After that first year, however, I finally focus seriously on my education and my friendship with Scar.
Before graduation, I send out inquiries for freelance writing jobs all over the United States, deliberately
excluding Vegas. Scar does the same with her physical fitness degree. We travel to many states during summer breaks, and we both fall in love with Montana. When we each secure jobs there, we immediately accept them. We live together for a year until she meets the jerk who becomes her husband. I never truly like him. He is arrogant, self–absorbed, and looks down on me because I do not
devote my entire life to fitness.
As the years pass, I date casually, but nothing ever turns serious. I focus on my career and occasionally sleep with my boss. We are both single, and neither of us has an issue keeping it discreet. My job requires frequent travel, and the arrangement suits my lifestyle perfectly.
Everything feels perfect until my best friend catches her cheating husband in the act. After that, she
leaves Montana and moves to Florida. I support her completely, but it shatters my heart. We talk on
the phone occasionally, though not nearly as often as I want. She starts enjoying her freedom again, and I am genuinely happy for her, even if I feel a quiet twinge of jealousy.
One day, I receive an SOS text from her. When my boss refuses to give me time off but allows some
other airhead to go on vacation instead, I quit on the spot. My best friend needs me, and nothing is going to stop me from getting to her. Now I am sitting on a plane heading to Florida. I am eager to see her and curious about what Florida has in store for me.
