At the sound of the voice, Chloe looked toward the doorway. Behind Blaine stood a somewhat frail figure

-Scott.

Scott walked in, glancing at them a bit awkwardly. “Chloe. And the kids–you’re all here.”

He offered an embarrassed smile, then turned his attention to Chloe, his voice earnest. “Chloe, I saw what’s happening online. I tried calling but couldn’t get through, so I went to find Blaine. When I found out he was coming here, I figured he wouldn’t mind if I tagged along. Hope that’s alright.”

Blaine just shrugged. Spotting his granddaughter Melinda lounging elegantly on the sofa, he walked over and gestured for her to move her long legs so he could sit.

Chloe glanced at Scott. “Have a seat.”

“Thanks.” Scott settled onto an empty couch, looking like a first–time visitor–reserved, slightly nervous.

After getting comfortable, he turned to Chloe. “I read through everything. Spent the whole night going through those comments.”

Chloe listened without expression.

“Chloe.” Scott’s tone shifted. “Do what you need to do.”

She paused, lifting her eyes to look at the aging man across from her.

“The Lewis name is in your hands now. Don’t hold back on my account–even if this backlash brings the whole family down, so be it.” Scott’s voice grew firmer. “I know you’ve been through a lot. So act. Don’t worry about the consequences. Even if we lose everything, even if it costs me everything I have to stand with you in this fight–I’m ready.”

At his words, Melinda glanced at Blaine and subtly gave a thumbs–up in Scott’s direction.

On the other side, Oralia raised an eyebrow.

Well. Someone finally came to his senses.

“Chloe, I’ve got the legal team ready. PR, security–they’re all on standby. Please, use them. Whatever you need from now on, just say the word.” Scott’s voice carried absolute sincerity.

Blaine cleared his throat quietly. “Mr. Lewis has mobilized every available resource. Including media

contacts.”

Everyone turned to look at Chloe.

She simply looked at Scott and offered a faint smile.

“If the sky falls, there are taller people to hold it up.” Robert wandered over casually, snuggling into Chloe’s arms. “And the sky’s not falling yet. What’s there to be scared of? With someone as awesome as me around. we’re not letting a bunch of gossip push us around.”

Seeing Robert, Scott’s eyes softened. “Sweetheart… could I… give you a hug?”

His voice was gentle, almost afraid to speak too loud.

Robert looked up at Chloe. She gave a small nod, and he trotted happily over to Scott.

Scott’s expression warmed at the boy’s words. A surge of emotion ran through him. “Of course I can lift you! I’m stronger than I look. Come here, Robert–let Grandpa hold you!” Overflowing with joy, he carefully picked Robert up and lifted him high.

“This is fun! Do it again!” Robert laughed with delight.

“Alright!”

“Again!”

“You got it!”

“Again–and spin me this time!”

“Sure thing!”

Chloe watched Scott and Robert play together like two carefree kids.

She didn’t comment further. Instead, she turned to Blaine. “How’s Charles doing?”

Blaine straightened. “His health has finally reached its limit. The online backlash reached him too. He saw it all, stayed calm. When he found out I was coming to see you, he asked me to pass something along. He said…”

Blaine paused, then delivered Charles‘ message.

“The Myers family owes you. Since some of them refuse to behave… handle the cleanup however you see fit.”

After relaying the words, Blaine added, “Charles said your well–being is all that matters to him. Nothing else.”

Melinda leaned closer to Chloe. “Looks like Charles is on our side. He’s not letting those shares go back to the Myers family, and he’s not letting them bully you.”

Blaine’s smile deepened. “Mr. Myers also said he’s ready to step in personally. Whenever you need him- he’s fully on board.”
