Chapter 579 The Binghams Arrive

A man like Eugene was never meant to be ordinary. The air around him carried a natural authority–the kind that marked a born leader.
Looking back, when Cosmos Group invested fifty billion to acquire a stake in Lewis Group, that should have been everyone’s first clue.
Eugene moved to stand beside Arthur.
“Thank you, Eugene,” Arthur murmured quietly.
Eugene gave a slight nod in response, offering nothing more.
Today. Eugene had chosen to step forward openly–for Chloe’s sake. He was here as her partner, attending as the man she loved.
His
presence noticeably shifted the atmosphere in the room. Many wanted to approach and greet Eric, but the role he was playing gave them pause–no one dared to intrude lightly.
“Mr. Payne, paying his respects.”
Frank arrived with his family, all dressed in somber black. He approached the memorial, reflecting on the decades of friendship he had shared with Charles. So many plans left unfinished, so much left unsaid- now, with Charles gone, an emptiness settled in his chest.
Having been like brothers their whole lives, Frank reached out and touched the portrait of Charles, letting out a soft sigh. Maybe in another life, they’d meet again as brothers.
Overcome with emotion, Frank was steadied by Arthur, who guided him gently to the side to sit down.
“Scott, paying his respects.”
The announcement echoed lightly as Scott entered. He was here on behalf of Lewis Group. Over the past few days, he’d been managing company affairs, staying in close contact with Eugene by phone.
Now, seeing Arthur and Eugene standing together before Charles memorial, Scott offered a respectful nod without a word. He stepped forward to lay flowers, then quietly withdrew to the side.
The service continued, Eugene stood like a steady pillar. From the moment he appeared, the funeral seemed to fall into even deeper order–the murmured conversations around the room grew quieter, more restrained.
Then Bruce hurried in. Noticing Eugene had arrived, he gave a quick nod before making his way to Arthur and handing him a business card.
“Mr. Myers, there’s a visitor outside. They specifically asked to have this card brought to you.”
Arthur was confused. He’d made it clear the Myers family wouldn’t be receiving any outside visitors during the service–yet here was someone insisting on making contact.
He took the card and read the name printed on it–then stilled.

Noah Bingham. He knew that name.
The current head of the Bingham family. Bingham Technologies was a well–known R&D firm in the city, operating in a completely different sphere from Myers Group. They had little to no overlap with most of the guests here, and even less of a direct link to the Myers family itself.
Everyone in business circles knew of the Binghams–their reputation preceded them–but that was usually where the connection ended.
So why would a member of the Bingham family come now, after Charles‘ passing? And not just come–but actively send in a card, requesting to pay respects?
It was happening right in front of him, and Arthur felt almost dazed.
His hand paused, and only then did he notice a second card tucked neatly beneath the first. Looking closer, he saw another name.
Amber Bingham, CEO of a biotech firm.

Amber and Noah were siblings. Together they oversaw all the research ventures under the Bingham family umbrella. And today, both had come.
“They…” Arthur started, then hesitated. Even now, he couldn’t piece together why two of the Bingham family’s key figures would appear here.
