Chapter 580 Recognition

Eugene froze in place. At the mention of “the Bingham family“, his expression darkened. The Binghams moved in academic and research circles–worlds apart from the corporate sphere–and their paths rarely crossed. Even Cosmos Group had no established ties with them.
So why would they appear now? Something had to be going on.
Eugene shot a glance toward Bruce and was just about to instruct him when his phone buzzed.
He was in the middle of Charles‘ memorial–who would call at a time like this?
Pulling out his cell, Eugene checked the screen. Robert’s name flashed up, and his face tightened. Signaling to Landon to hold things down, he turned and stepped out of the viewing room.
Once outside, he answered quickly, voice low.
“What is it?”
“We’ve got something.” Robert’s urgent tone stopped Eugene cold.
He stood still, fingers tightening around the phone. “What do you mean?”
‘The system just picked up a signal from Mommy,” Robert said, excitement barely contained. “I’m sure it’s
her.”
Eugene went quiet.
Since Robert had launched that tracking program, there had been nothing–no trace, no clue. Chloe had vanished into thin air.
Robert had promised that if she surfaced anywhere, the system would flag it immediately.
Now there was a hit–which meant somewhere out there, Chloe’s presence had been detected.
‘Can you pinpoint the location?” Eugene asked, his voice unsteady.
‘Give me a few minutes. I’m locking onto it now,” Robert replied, the sound of rapid keyboard clicks audible in the background.
“Alright.” Just then, noise erupted from inside the hall. Eugene glanced back and saw Arthur personally ushering a group of people into the room.
“I’ve got to go.” Eugene ended the call and turned to reenter the viewing room, but after only a few steps, he halted.
Arthur was accompanied by four others. Trailing behind him were a man and a woman who shared a clear family resemblance. Though Eugene had never met them privately, he recognized their faces from research journals and media profiles. The woman was almost certainly Amber, the renowned research lead from the Bingham family, and the man beside her had to be Noah–the current head of the family,
Behind them walked an elderly man with stern features and snow–white hair, leaning on an elegant cane.

That would be Carl.
But behind Carl was another figure.

She wore a simple black dress, her face obscured by a layer of black tulle veil. Her silhouette suggested a slender, graceful build, but her features were completely hidden.
Eugene’s eyes locked on her. He paused, unable to explain why, but from the moment he spotted her, his gaze stuck–even with her face covered.
That silhouette… It pulled at him, somehow.
Why did he feel like this?
Eugene couldn’t help but frown.
Carl rarely attended business events and almost never appeared in public. His presence here left the gathered guests stunned.
