Chapter 595 Diamond Encounter

Landon couldn’t wrap his head around why Chloe would ever want to show up at something like this.
Inside the venue, everything was buzzing.
Nance showed up dressed to the nines, surrounded by a circle of government officials and senior researchers.
Led by Noah, Amber, and the rest of the research team, he was given a full tour–checking out the facilities, glancing over public reports, and even getting a peek into the internal private database. By the end, he politely declined when the press asked for access to the data.
Once the tour wrapped up, Nance faced the cameras. He was all charm and poise, praising the Bingham family’s research team, complimenting their expertise and cutting–edge tech. He also nodded to Bingham Technologies‘ manufacturing strengths, mentioned he was open to future partnerships, and said he looked forward to more opportunities…
After the interviews wrapped, guests moved into a private banquet hall for the reception.
That was where the press access ended.
Nance stood chatting with Noah, the two lightly touching on possible collaboration. Both seemed genuinely interested in what the other brought to the table.
“This is my father,” Noah said, spotting Carl walking over with Chloe on his arm. He seized the moment to make introductions.
“I’ve long heard of Mr. Bingham. It’s a real pleasure,” Nance said, his eyes shifting from Carl to settle on Chloe beside him.
“I never took you for someone so invested in R&D, Mr. Hawk. I’m honored–and I have to say, your local language is impeccable.” Carl stepped forward, smiling warmly as he greeted him.
“Coming from you, that means a lot, Mr. Bingham,” Nance replied courteously before finally turning his attention fully to Chloe.
“This is my youngest, Claire,” Carl offered briefly, explaining that Chloe was the youngest of the family, always been spared the grind of the research world. This was, in fact, her very first time at an event like this.
“Ms. Bingham, a pleasure,” Nance said with a smile, extending his hand.
She returned the smile and reached out to shake it.
True to his polished manner, Nance leaned in slightly, took her hand, and brushed a light kiss just above
her knuckles.
Chloe studied the man in front of her. Every gesture was smooth, rehearsed yet effortless, and with looks like his, it was no wonder he had such a following online.
But her focus wasn’t really on him–it was pinned on the pink diamond gleaming on his lapel.

The stone was too large to miss.
Chloe didn’t personally find it all that beautiful. But Vincent wanted it, which meant she had to get it.
This was only the first task.
