There was a brief silence outside, and I could almost picture Reginald trying to hold back his laughter.
After a while, he finally said, “Alright.”
Then the sound of footsteps faded away from outside the door.
I threw myself onto the bed, thinking to myself that I was doomed; there was no way I could sleep
now.
But unexpectedly, that night, I actually slept soundly for once.
In the past few years, life had been calm and uneventful.
But whenever I fell asleep, terrifying scenes would always appear
in my
dreams.
Scenes like that explosion, or the moment when the serial killer caught me, tied me up, and stared at me with a twisted grin while holding a knife…
When I woke up the next morning, I even felt a little dazed.
In last night’s dream, all those frightening things were gone, replaced by Reginald’s gentle smile.
I sat on the bed, gazing at the sunlight outside the window, feeling a deep sense of peace.
Suddenly, the door was gently knocked, and Reginald’s voice came through: “Whitty, are you awake?”
I got out of bed, opened the door, and before he could react, I threw myself into his arms.
Reginald was stunned for a moment, but soon raised his arms and hugged me back.
His deep voice sounded in my ear: “Did you have a nightmare?”
I looked up at him and shook my head: “No, I had a wonderful dream.”
The man raised his eyebrows and curled his lips: “Was I in
your
dream?”
I smiled, mimicking his expression and raised my eyebrows: “Guess.”
Then I stepped out of his embrace and walked back into the room.

Reginald shook his head helplessly and said behind me, “Breakfast is ready. Come cat when you’re done getting ready.”
Without turning around, I reached back and made an ‘OK‘ gesture.
After breakfast, Reginald said he would drive me to work at the hotel.
As soon as I opened the door, I saw Calvin standing outside.
When he saw Reginald beside me, his face instantly darkened: “Why are you still here?”
Reginald snorted coldly: “What does that have to do with you?”
Calvin pressed his thin lips together, as if holding back his anger, and both of them looked at me.
I looked into Calvin’s eyes, then took Reginald’s hand: “As you can see, we’re together now.”
A look of disbelief flashed in his eyes, and he shook his head: “That’s impossible.”
I found his reaction a bit strange, so I asked, “Why do you think it’s impossible?”
Calvin looked at me seriously, paused, and said, “Because last time, you married me.”
My heart suddenly tightened.
Last time?
Could he be talking about the previous life?
Reginald squeezed my hand tighter, frowned at Calvin and said, “Whitty never got married. What nonsense are you talking about?”
