Damn it, is this guy really asleep?
Unable to resist, I gently opened the door and peeked outside through the crack.
The living room was shrouded in darkness, utterly silent.
I could vaguely make out a person lying on the sofa, their chest rising and falling evenly.
It looked like he was asleep.
Strangely, my heart softened. Seeing the blanket about to slip off him, I hurried forward, carefully grabbed it, and gently covered him again.
Afraid of waking him, I didn’t even dare to breathe for a moment.
Fortunately, even after I finished tucking in the blanket, Reginald showed no sign of waking up.
Looking at his sleeping face, I suddenly felt reluctant to leave.
I had to admit, Reginald had always been exceptionally handsome since childhood.
Although Calvin was good–looking too, the two of them had completely different styles.
Calvin had a cold, sharp kind of charm, while Reginald’s eyes were soft and alluring; when he looked at you, your heart would simply melt.
Thinking of this, I couldn’t help but smile, then decided to return to my room and sleep.
But just as I was about to straighten up and quietly leave, the man who had seemed fast asleep on the sofa suddenly opened his eyes.
Reginald spoke, his voice slightly hoarse: “Sneaking out to watch me this late at night?”
I immediately felt embarrassed and turned to run away.
But he grabbed my hand in an instant, and I lost my balance, falling onto the sofa.
The distance between us was closer than ever before; I could even feel his breath brushing against my skin.
Suddenly, I felt my ears burning and quickly tried to push myself up.

Chapter 41
Reginald didn’t let go, his eyes and brows shining with delight.
The atmosphere was intensely intimate.
The man gazed seriously into my eyes and said, “Let’s be together, Whitty.”
He had said these words to me many times over the past few years.
But perhaps it was the beautiful moonlight tonight–my heart was shaken as never before.
Looking at Reginald before me, I thought, maybe I could never refuse him again.

Though I had suffered from love before, if I didn’t give it a try, how would I ever know if he was the right one?
So I curled my lips into a smile and nodded to him slowly and firmly: “Okay.”
The moment I spoke, Reginald’s eyes lit up instantly, shining like stars in the night.
I felt the warm palm on my back press a little harder.
In the next second, I was completely enveloped in the man’s embrace.
Reginald held me tightly, as if he were holding a rare treasure.
My hand rested on Reginald’s chest, and I could clearly feel his steady, powerful heartbeat.
Neither of us spoke; it was so quiet that we could hear each other’s slightly uneven breaths.
I don’t know how long passed before I finally gave him a gentle push.
Reginald restrained himself and kissed the top of my head, then finally let go.
My heart instantly melted into a puddle; if not for the darkness hiding me, he would surely have seen my face, red as a boiled shrimp.
Not caring about anything else, I quickly scrambled out of Reginald’s arms and ran toward my
room.
Maybe my panicked escape looked a bit ridiculous–I could even hear Reginald’s muffled laughter.
The moment the door closed, I leaned against it, feeling as if my heart was about to leap out of my
throat.
Suddenly, the door shook, and there were two knocks: “thump thump.”

It was Reginald knocking. His clear voice came through: “What do you want for breakfast tomorrow?”
My tense nerves instantly relaxed. I cleared my throat before replying, “Anything!”
