He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 107

Right.

She had a child.

A child she had with another man.

She began to whimper, the sound small and fragile, but tears leaked endlessly from her eyes, quickly soaking the pillow beneath her head.

Overwhelmed by an immense sorrow, she let out quiet, broken sobs.

Pierce called her name softly. "Seraphina."

She didn't wake. The tears flowed like a surging tide, her teeth sinking into her bottom lip until it turned completely pale.

"Seraphina..." Pierce reached out, gently wiping the tears from her face.

The scorching heat of her tears felt as if it were burning his skin.

Pierce didn't know what to do.

He desperately wanted to pull her into his arms, dry her tears, and soothe her.

But the doctors had strictly warned him not to move her neck too much because of the injury.

He could only press his forehead gently against hers, carefully kissing away her tears. "Don't cry. I never said I wouldn't accept the baby."

Seraphina continued to weep. Pierce had no idea what nightmare was playing out in her mind; he only knew she was trembling with an all-consuming grief.

All he could do was half-lie on the edge of the bed, wrapping his arms securely around her from behind, comforting her endlessly.

"When you wake up, we'll go bring the baby home."

"We'll tell everyone the baby is mine. You can decide if the child takes the Prescott name or the Somerset name. I, Pierce Prescott, am more than capable of raising a child."

Whether it was because the sleeping Seraphina somehow heard him, or because the nightmare finally passed, she gradually settled back into a peaceful state.

However, she still looked incredibly frail, her energy completely depleted.
