Caspian laughed, deliberately teasing Seraphina. "So you have a husband, huh?"
Seraphina held the baby, her gaze and attention entirely focused on the little one. From the moment Pierce appeared, she hadn't given him a single glance.
Pierce didn't know Caspian, but Caspian definitely knew Pierce.
Pierce had ruined his family. Caspian would probably recognize the man even if he were reduced to ashes.
Visibly displeased, Pierce stepped past Caspian and looked directly at Seraphina. "Come here. We need to talk."
Seraphina fired back without hesitation. "I have nothing to say to you."
Frowning, Pierce pointed at Caspian. "Seraphina, don't you owe me an explanation? Who is he?"
"Does it have anything to do with you?"
"Seraphina, do you remember that you are a married woman? Sneaking out with another man in the middle of the night—shouldn't you run that by your husband?"
"Say what?" Seraphina met his gaze head-on, her chin raised. "Aside from divorce, there is nothing left for us to discuss."
Infuriated, Pierce reached out to grab her.
Holding the baby, Seraphina couldn't easily fight back. She could only keep stepping backward to dodge his hand.
"Seraphina!" Pierce roared like an enraged lion.
Caspian rolled his motorcycle forward a few inches, blocking his path. "Mr. Prescott, Dr. Somerset has nothing to say to you, but I do. How about we find a place to chat, just the two of us?"
He revved the engine, the roar shattering the quiet night.
Seraphina glanced up slightly. Caspian hated Pierce to his very core. If these two men were left alone, it would undoubtedly end in a disaster.
She tugged lightly at Caspian's sleeve, whispering a warning. "You're still injured."
Caspian winked at her playfully. "What, so worried about me?"
