He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 192

Pierce kept his head lowered. There was no genuine guilt in his tone, only perfunctory endurance. He didn't offer any defense.

He asked quietly, "How did she lose the baby?"

Felix quickly leaned in closer to Pierce, lowering his voice to explain rapidly, "Mr. Prescott, as soon as you called, I headed straight for the villa. The moment I walked in, I saw Ms. Langley lying on the floor. There was a massive pool of blood, and she was deathly pale. I rushed her to the hospital, but the doctors said... the baby couldn't be saved."

Pierce frowned, a trace of impatient confusion in his voice. "How could this happen so suddenly?"

"I don't know." Felix shook his head, sounding worried. "The doctor said her pregnancy was very stable with no underlying issues. They have no idea why she suddenly started hemorrhaging."

Alistair shot Pierce a glacial glare, his tone severe. "You dare ask why? It's all because of you! You wander around like a ghost, with eyes only for that vicious woman Seraphina. Lyra is carrying your child, and have you cared for her for even a single day? If you had bothered to spend some time with her and take care of her, how could she have lost the baby?"

Just then, a few nurses wheeled a hospital bed out of the operating room.

Lyra lay on it, her face as white as a sheet. Her lips were chapped, her eyes vacant, and she looked too weak to even move a muscle.

"Lyra!" Alistair's tone instantly softened the moment he saw her. He hurried over, his eyes full of heartache. "Lyra, how are you? Are you feeling any better?"

Lyra slowly opened her eyes. Seeing Alistair, her tears immediately spilled over. Her voice was weak and brimming with grievance. "Mr. Prescott, I'm so sorry. I couldn't save your great-grandson. I'm sorry..."

"It's not your fault, it's not your fault." Alistair quickly comforted her, his tone gentle. "Just rest and focus on recovering. You'll have other children in the future."

The nurse stopped and looked at them, her tone strictly professional. "Are you the family of Lyra Langley? The patient just got out of surgery and needs plenty of rest. Also, the surgery and hospital fees haven't been paid yet. Please head to billing as soon as possible."
