Silas cranked up the heat the moment they got into the car.
Within minutes, the temperature inside began to rise, but the three of them sat in heavy silence.
Sienna hesitated multiple times, clearly wanting to talk to Seraphina but holding back because of the stranger's presence.
Unsure of the relationship between her sister and this man, she didn't dare speak recklessly.
Noticing the tension, Silas pulled the car over to the side of the road and unbuckled his seatbelt. "I'm going to grab a few things. Take your time."
The second Silas was out of earshot, Sienna burst into tears. "Why didn't you tell the family that things had gotten this bad between you and Pierce? How long has he been with that manipulative bitch?"
Seraphina honestly didn't know. She simply shook her head. "Probably... three years."
Sienna gritted her teeth in hatred. "It's true what they say. Men get money and they go bad. He was so good to you when you were still in school. Now that he has wealth, status, and power, he's completely rotten."
Seraphina had no desire to dwell on the topic. She asked instead, "Why were you looking for me today?"
Sienna immediately clamped her mouth shut, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked away, refusing to answer.
Seraphina pressed, "Tell me. He's gone. It's just the two of us now."
Sienna stubbornly kept her back turned. "It's nothing. Just pretend I never showed up tonight."
Seraphina had watched her sister grow up. She knew Sienna's personality inside and out.
Truth be told, her sister's rebellious streak had a lot to do with Seraphina herself.
