He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 50

Caspian broke into a grin, his white teeth stained with blood. "Don't I have a doctor right here in the house? Dr. Somerset, care to patch me up?"

Seraphina was not amused. "We agreed I was only taking care of Arthur Quincy. Now, not only am I playing nanny, but I have to play trauma surgeon too? Mr. Quincy, you're making me do three jobs for the price of one."

"Five thousand a month isn't too shabby, right? If you can find a part-time gig that pays better, I won't stop you. Oh, but before you leave, return the sixty thousand dollars."

Even covered in injuries, Caspian still held his chin high with total arrogance.

Seraphina had no choice. She genuinely needed the cash right now.

"The moment I find a better offer, I'll walk out without looking back."

"Then I'll pray for a windfall to drop in your lap, Dr. Somerset."

Refusing to engage further, Seraphina headed back into the villa.

The baby was indeed crying.

She picked her up and checked, quickly realizing Skylar's diaper was completely soaked.

No wonder the baby was crying; she was miserable.

She smoothly tore open a fresh diaper and gently changed her.

Within moments, the tears stopped. Skylar stared up at her with wide, dark eyes, and after a moment, offered a faint, gummy smile, showing off her toothless pink gums.

Seraphina poked a finger against the baby's soft cheek. Skylar reached out, gripping her finger tight, babbling happily.

Caspian shuffled back in and collapsed onto the sofa, panting heavily. The massive blood loss had clearly drained his strength.

A suffocating stench of copper flooded the air.

Seraphina frowned. The infant in her arms was also put off by the smell, her little mouth quivering as if she were about to cry again.

Seraphina had to pace back and forth with Skylar to keep her calm, purposely putting distance between them and Caspian.
