The upscale villa district was always far from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
Seraphina ordered a ride the moment she stepped outside. By the time she pulled out her phone, she realized she had over twenty blocked calls.
All of them were from Pierce.
They had already gone their separate ways. What else could he possibly want from her?
Seraphina ignored him entirely.
Upon arriving at Westside Pharmacy, she bought a massive haul of rubbing alcohol and bandages, stuffing a large bag full.
In addition to the first-aid supplies, she also picked up some oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications.
When she reached the register and pulled out her phone to pay, she heard a few people whispering and pointing at her from behind.
She shot a glance over her shoulder, and the group immediately fell silent.
Seraphina assumed she must have gotten Caspian's blood on her clothes, but after checking herself over, she didn't find a single drop of crimson.
Finally, one of the girls couldn't hold back anymore. She stepped forward and asked, "Excuse me, are you Seraphina Somerset?"
Seraphina frowned. "Do I know you?"
"It is you!" The woman excitedly turned to her group of friends. "This is exactly who I was just telling you about! Our school's infamous legend. She hooked up with her own stepdad back in school and even had an abortion!"
Another girl gasped in realization. "Oh, is this the one you said was damaged goods, but still managed to completely bewitch the most popular guy in school like some kind of seductress?"
"Yes, that's her! I don't know what kind of spell she cast on Pierce, but he swore he'd never marry anyone else..."
Seraphina stared deadpan at the group of girls for a moment before shaking her head. She paid for her items and turned to leave, but the ringleader suddenly blocked her path.
Seraphina arched an eyebrow. "What do you want?"
The girl scanned her up and down with absolute contempt. "You stole my best friend's boyfriend. What do you have to say for yourself?"
