He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 54

Pierce furrowed his brows. "You know me?"

"Not personally, but... haha, your reputation certainly precedes you."

Officer Vance offered a tight, utterly fake smile.

Pierce could sense the strange hostility in the officer's attitude. He pressed further, "Officer, I don't quite understand..."

"Pierce!" Lyra cried out softly, her voice trembling. "I think I'm bleeding..."

Seraphina shot a glance over and saw that on Lyra's pale pink slip dress, there were indeed several faint crimson spots.

Lyra bit her lip and crouched on the ground, her face turning pale from the agony. "It hurts so much..."

Forgetting everything else, Felicity immediately rushed over, her face full of concern. "Lyra, are you okay? Where are you bleeding? I'll have my brother take you to the hospital! Franklin—"

Looking at her idiotic friend, Lyra practically ground her teeth into dust. "How could I possibly bother your brother? I'll just have Pierce take me."

"Oh, please, this is an emergency! Who cares whose car it is? My brother has his car right here. Come on, I'll help you up..."

Ignoring Lyra's protests, Felicity grabbed her arm to haul her to her feet.

She was strong and practically hoisted Lyra off the pavement in one swift motion.

Lyra reached out and grabbed Pierce's hand, her eyes darting nervously as if trying to signal something. "Pierce, there are some things outsiders don't know. It's better if you take me."

Pierce fell silent, seemingly caught in deep thought.

Taking the opportunity, Seraphina quickened her pace, yanked open the passenger door of the police cruiser, and climbed inside.

Felicity was still aggressively trying to persuade her friend. "Lyra, I'm not an outsider! What could you possibly not tell me? Plus, I need to go to the hospital to get checked out for my injuries anyway. We can go together. Won't that be perfect?"
