He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 55

The situation had clearly spiraled out of control.

Officer Vance was utterly baffled.

He turned to Felicity with a serious expression. "Are you still going to the hospital?"

Felicity immediately snapped out of it. "Yes! My whole body hurts. I need a full medical exam, and Seraphina is paying for all of it!"

Even though Felicity had been the aggressor, it was a fact that Seraphina had physically retaliated. Officer Vance had no choice but to follow protocol.

He nodded and prepared to walk over to get Seraphina's statement again.

Franklin stopped him. "Officer, I'm the victim's older brother. I can accompany her for the exam. As for Ms. Somerset... we all know each other. Once the hospital bill is ready, I'll just send it to her directly."

Officer Vance looked at him, then glanced over at Seraphina.

Pierce was standing right outside the passenger door, blocking Seraphina like a solid brick wall. She couldn't escape, and Officer Vance couldn't even see her.

Officer Vance asked Franklin, "Is that guy really her husband?"

Franklin nodded. "Currently, yes."

"What do you mean 'currently'?"

"I mean there's no guarantee he will be in the future."

Officer Vance found the whole thing absurd. "Well, he's certainly an interesting character. His wife went through sheer hell, and he was nowhere to be found. Now he suddenly pops out of the woodwork acting like the most devoted husband in the world. Who knows what goes through guys like that."

Franklin's eyes flickered slightly, but he didn't offer a response.

He turned back and waved his sister over. "Let's go. Get in the car. We're heading to the hospital."

Felicity nodded, instantly turning back to Lyra. "Come on, Lyra, stop being so stubborn! Let's get you to the hospital and stop the bleeding!"

Not far away, Seraphina was still struggling frantically. She pushed hard against the car door to keep Pierce from shutting it, sinking her teeth viciously into his hand.
