He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 67

Seraphina's expression turned icy. "Get out."

Lana turned around, and upon seeing him, flared up in anger. "You have the nerve to show up here? Just wait, I'm calling the cops on you right now!"

She pulled out her phone.

Pierce held up a printed ticket. "This is Dr. Somerset's office, isn't it? I'm your first patient today. Are you going to refuse to treat patients on your very first day here?"

Doctors couldn't refuse a patient who had legally registered for a consultation. Since Seraphina had just transferred, causing a scene would ruin her reputation at State Medical Center.

She shifted into her professional demeanor. "What seems to be the problem?"

Pierce walked in slowly and pointed at Lana. "Does this hospital allow irrelevant people to linger during a private consultation?"

Lana was furious. "I'm a doctor here too! I'm not irrelevant!"

"But you don't have consultation privileges yet, do you?"

Lana bit her lip. He was right. She had just arrived and didn't even have her own office.

Pierce gestured toward the door. "Dr. Langley, please step out. I have things to discuss with Dr. Somerset."

Lana stood her ground, glaring at him.

Just then, a patient peeked through the door. "Is this Cardiology? Are you taking patients yet?"

Pierce flashed his ticket, which clearly displayed the number 001. "I'm being seen right now."

The patient was an elderly woman in worn clothes, likely from a rural county. She looked confused. "There are tickets? Where do I buy one?"

Seraphina pointed down the hall. "Ma'am, there's a ticketing kiosk in the main lobby. The staff there can help you print one."

"Oh, I'll go right now."

Seraphina, worried the woman might get lost, shot Lana a look.

Lana immediately understood.
