He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 75

The coworker assumed it was from a disgruntled patient's family and sighed sympathetically. "Patient relations are so tense these days. They smile to your face, but who knows what they're plotting. But you just transferred here, Dr. Somerset. How did you manage to tick off a patient so quickly?"

Seraphina waved a dismissive hand. "I really am fine. Go on home, I just need to rest for a minute."

"Alright, we'll head out then."

"Okay. Bye."

The coworkers quickly dispersed.

Pierce spoke softly, "Your coworker was right. If you're sick, you need to see a doctor. You're a cardiologist, not a gastroenterologist. You need a specialist. You can hate me all you want, but don't take it out on your health. And your elbow..."

It had been a full day, and her elbow was still swollen so badly it stretched the fabric of her sleeve.

Pierce reached down to help her up. "Come on, let's go inside..."

"Leave me alone!" Seraphina swatted his hand away, turned her head, and dry-heaved again.

Afraid of hurting her injured arm, Pierce stepped back.

He dropped to one knee in front of her, his voice heavy. "What do you want from me, Seraphina?"

"I want you to get out of my sight. The farther, the better."

He let out a dark chuckle. "No."

Without warning, he scooped her up into his arms and strode purposefully toward the hospital entrance.

"Pierce! Are you a psycho?!"

"I'm perfectly sane. You're the one who's sick," his tone softened, and his steps grew steadier. "Just behave. You can fight with me later, but your health comes first."

Pierce carried her all the way to the emergency room.

He refused to put her down even when they arrived.

The ER doctor immediately asked, "What's the situation?"
