He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 77

"Seraphina?"

Silas had changed into his casual clothes and was still holding the thermos from lunch, clearly on his way home.

Hearing his voice, Seraphina called out, "Silas."

Noticing her pale face, Silas hurried over.

But with Pierce's massive frame barricading the doorway and showing zero intent to move, Silas couldn't get inside.

"Are you off the clock, Silas?" Seraphina asked. "Drive safe."

Silas didn't leave. He frowned in concern. "Are you sick? You look terrible."

Seraphina clutched her chest, her eyes slightly glossy.

He instantly connected the dots. "Is it a depressive episode?"

Knowing she couldn't hide it from him, she gave a slight nod. "Yeah."

Silas was deeply alarmed. "You were fine at lunch. What triggered..."

He shot a cold glare at Pierce. He didn't need to say the words; the implication was loud and clear.

"It's fine. I'm feeling better," Seraphina said. "I have errands to run. I should get going."

"Are you heading home? I can drop you off, it's on my way."

Seraphina didn't argue. She leaned on the edge of the desk to steady herself, then looked straight at Pierce. "Move."

Pierce didn't budge.

He stared down at her, his eyes flashing with sudden, dangerous realization. "You don't live with him?"

Seraphina lost her temper. "I'm not like you! If I'm going to move in with someone, I'd at least have the decency to get a divorce first."

Pierce let out a dark scoff. "And the kid? Does the kid stay with him or you?"

This time, it was Seraphina who was utterly stunned.

"How do you know about the kid?"
