He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 78

Seraphina quickly ran through the possibilities in her mind. No one else knew about Caspian and his baby. Lyra had just returned from abroad—how on earth could she have known?

"Answer me, Seraphina!"

Seraphina lifted her chin, staring him down defiantly. "A girl. Does that satisfy you?"

Pierce froze, the color draining from his face. "You admit it?"

"Yeah, I admit it. What are you going to do about it?"

"Do you have a shred of conscience left?"

"Nope. Fed it to the dogs."

Seraphina continued coldly, "Since you know, that makes things easier. Yes, I had a baby. Tomorrow morning, you will meet me at City Hall on time. We'll sign the divorce papers, end this farce, and go our separate ways forever."

She shoved him with all her remaining strength.

To her surprise, the immovable wall that was Pierce Prescott actually stumbled backward, leaving the doorway clear.

As Seraphina stepped out, a wave of intense dizziness hit her. Silas immediately caught her, offering his arm for support so she could lean her weight on him. "Still feeling sick?"

Seraphina nodded miserably, her voice incredibly weak. "Everything's spinning."

"Did you take your meds?"

"The ER doc gave me some. Just swallowed it. It'll take a few minutes to kick in."

"Take it slow. I've got you."

"Sorry for being a burden again."

Silas spoke with quiet tenderness, "We've known each other for years, stop apologizing. You should have called me the second you felt sick..."

The two of them slowly walked down the corridor.

Behind them, the remaining three people stood in varying states of shock.
