He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 85

When Seraphina finally regained consciousness, she was trapped in a cramped, pitch-black space.

She was curled into a tight ball, her wrists and ankles bound tightly, and a filthy, foul-tasting rag was shoved deep into her mouth.

Listening to the hum of the engine and feeling the intense vibrations, she quickly deduced she had been stuffed into the trunk of a moving car.

The vehicle was speeding along a terribly rough road, making the ride violently bumpy.

The sharp chemical scent still burned in her nostrils, though it had faded slightly.

She recognized the smell instantly. It was ether.

There had to be two people in the car—one driving and one in the passenger seat.

"How much further? This mountain road is destroying my ass," a whiny voice complained.

"Almost there. There are still some locals hanging around the outskirts of this mountain. We need to go deeper."

The voices belonged to Buck and Slim.

Slim was the one who had called out her name in the alley, while Buck was the driver who had knocked her out with the ether.

The effects of the drug hadn't completely worn off. Seraphina's head was throbbing violently, and the nausea was crawling back up her throat with every bump in the road.

She forced herself to stay calm and analyze her options for escape.

Two years ago, she had been drugged and kidnapped in the exact same way. That guy, however, had been a coward who lost his nerve and dumped her at a landfill instead of killing her.

The sanitation workers had found her and, thinking she was a corpse, called the cops.

The police and forensics team arrived only to discover she was still breathing, and they rushed her to the hospital, saving her life.

But this time, these two had a clear objective. She seriously doubted she'd be that lucky again.

"...Seriously, how does a guy like Pierce get so lucky?" Slim muttered. "Did you see his wife? That face, that body... she's smoking hot."

"Tsk, think with your head for once. If you're that desperate, you can have your fun before we finish her off."

"You don't want a piece of that, Buck?"

Buck let out a sleazy, guttural laugh. "Who goes first?"

"Heh heh, let me go first. I don't think I can hold back, man. Come on, please?"

"Sure, go ahead. With your scrawny little frame, you probably won't even last long enough to ruin the fun for me."
