She had been practically foaming at the mouth for a chance to put them in their place.
She just couldn't comprehend it. These two elders had always claimed they saw her as a daughter and gave her anything she asked for. How could they turn their backs on her so coldly?
They used to treat Caleb like a prince, but the second they found out he wasn't related by blood, they flipped a switch.
Whenever she and Julian fought, they used to patiently talk her down and take her side, telling Julian to be a better husband. But during the divorce? Total silence. They hadn't said a single word in her defense. They even blocked her number.
And now, they were parading their entire family out to celebrate Scarlett's baby.
How could they be so utterly ruthless toward her and Caleb?
Even if Caleb wasn't biologically theirs, they had loved him. Didn't they feel anything?
They were here bringing gifts for Scarlett's daughter, but did they even care that Caleb had recently passed his own milestone? They hadn't sent him a single gift.
They were never like this before. No matter how bratty or impatient she got with them, they would always smooth things over, showering her with money and gifts to keep her happy.
But now, they had cut her off without a second thought.
The more Sylvia thought about it, the more violently resentful she felt.
She glared at Elara as if the older woman were her mortal enemy.
Elara was flushed red with anger, completely stunned. Sylvia’s relentless, toxic barrage had caught her completely off guard, leaving her humiliated and furious.
"You... you... you..."
In all her life, Elara had never encountered a woman so unapologetically delusional and unreasonable.
She was shaking so hard she couldn't form a sentence, her heart racing so fast she swayed on her feet, nearly fainting.
Dominic quickly caught her, his finger jabbing furiously toward Sylvia.
Scarlett shot Sylvia an icy glare.
"Sylvia, didn't you get enough of a wake-up call with that cold water? Are you really begging for more?"
Seeing Julian and Scarlett walking out together, looking like a perfectly united front, made Sylvia’s blood boil even hotter.
Her lips curled into a vicious sneer. Ignoring Julian, she locked her eyes directly on Scarlett.
"Wow, look at the happy couple. Scarlett, the ink isn't even dry on your divorce papers, and you're already jumping into another man's bed?"
"I was simply catching up with Mr. and Mrs. Croft. How is that looking for trouble? Am I not allowed to chat with my former in-laws?"
At her words, Julian's expression turned lethal. He slowly turned around, his gaze piercing Sylvia like a physical blade.
"Sylvia," he said, his voice dropping to a dangerous hush, "don't push your luck."
