"Ms. Thorne, if you're truly willing to help Yardley by bailing Melanie and Sylvia out, I'll make the executive decision for him!"
"As long as that Scarlett Langley finalizes the divorce with my son, the Flynn family will proudly welcome you as his bride!"
The voice suddenly cutting through the phone line belonged to Corinne Quinn.
When Veronica Thorne called, Yardley Flynn happened to be having a meal with his mother. Consequently, Corinne heard every word of Veronica's offer clearly.
Hearing his mother's outburst, Yardley's expression darkened instantly. "Mom!"
Corinne shot him a fierce glare, signaling him to keep quiet.
After a brief pause, Veronica's voice came through again, noticeably softer and sweeter than before. "Is this Mrs. Flynn? I'm Veronica. It's an absolute pleasure to speak with you."
"Please don't worry. Melanie, Sylvia, and I are good friends; I'm more than happy to help them. As for Yardley and me... I'll leave that in your capable hands."
A fleeting, coy smile crossed Veronica's face. Without waiting for a response, she hung up.
To her, Corinne's promise was far more reliable than anything Yardley could say. Scarlett had been married to Yardley for years and had never won her mother-in-law's approval. Veronica, however, was already leaps and bounds ahead. In elite circles, winning over the mother-in-law was the key to securing the husband. Veronica knew this game well.
With this reassurance, she made up her mind. She would immediately drive to Bay City and find a way to bail Melanie and Sylvia out.
