He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 84

Yardley had two demands. First, he wanted to see his daughter. Second, he demanded to know exactly where Scarlett was living and who she was with.

Naturally, Scarlett wasn't going to entertain either of these demands.

She simply turned off her phone and spent the next week recovering peacefully at Azure Estates, staying behind closed doors and cutting off contact with the outside world.

Throughout that entire week, the online scandal continued to blaze, Flynn Group's stock plummeted to terrifying new lows, and both Sylvia and Yardley were being dragged through the mud on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, Scarlett stayed in the most luxurious mansion in Bay City, perfectly content as she spent her days cuddling Dawn.

She felt completely rejuvenated, both physically and mentally, enjoying several nights of deep, uninterrupted sleep.

A week later, she decided it was time to handle her next major priority: officially registering her daughter's legal identity.

She had originally planned to wait for her mother, Jacqueline, to return from Australia with their family's household registration booklet so she could finalize the paperwork. However, Jacqueline hadn't replied to any of her messages, leaving her return date completely up in the air.

Scarlett had never been the type to sit around waiting when she wanted something done.

She thought of Gordon Wyatt, the well-connected socialite of Bay City's elite circles. The man knew everyone and could pull strings to get practically anything done.

Scarlett reached out and asked Gordon if he could help her establish an independent household register so she could officially place Dawn under her own name.

Gordon was as efficient as ever. A single phone call was all it took. He told Scarlett to bring her ID and meet him to see a friend who could expedite the process.

Scarlett grabbed her ID and headed out to the agreed meeting spot.

The entire process was shockingly smooth. Half an hour later, the paperwork was finalized.

Clutching the brand-new red household registration booklet, Scarlett walked out of the administrative building alongside Gordon.

"Thank you so much, Gordon. Let me buy you dinner tonight. I'll invite Talia, too," Scarlett said with a bright smile.

Gordon tossed his head with a casual grin. "Sure, I'm not going to turn down a free meal. I heard a new high-end fusion place just opened up in town with a really unique menu. Let's check it out."
