He Loves Me Right, Finally novel Chapter 143

Wynette rushed to the hospital and gave Adriel's name at the front desk.

As soon as she heard he was in the ER, she turned and hurried over.

Inside the emergency room, Adriel looked a mess.

His white shirt was dusty, and the sleeve on his left arm had been cut open. A deep wound stretched across his arm.

The doctor had already disinfected it and was getting ready to stitch it up after the anesthesia kicked in.

"Adriel!" The strong smell of blood hit Wynette the moment she reached the doorway.

Maybe she had run too fast, or maybe the blood smell was just too strong, but her stomach twisted a little.

She quickly walked over to him. The second she saw the blood all over his arm, her face turned pale. "How did you get into a car accident?"

Adriel clearly had not expected her to show up. Looking into her worried eyes, he asked softly, "Why are you here?"

"Joanne told me you were in a crash. She couldn't get ahold of you and almost cried herself sick," Wynette answered honestly.

Her eyes never left his arm.

Even after the doctor cleaned it, blood still covered most of it. The cut looked deep.

Just looking at it made Wynette frown.

Adriel finally recalled his phone had been crushed under the car tire.

Blaze's phone had been damaged too. Neither of them could turn their phones back on.

Still, how had Joanne heard about it?

Adriel made a mental note to tell Blaze to keep the news under wraps.

At the very least, his family could not find out.

After hearing his explanation, Wynette finally relaxed a bit.

She pulled out her phone, called Joanne, and handed it to her. "You should tell Joanne you're okay. She's close to tears from worrying about you."

As soon as Adriel picked up the phone, Joanne's tearful voice came through. "Wynette? Did you find Adriel?"

Hearing the tears in her voice, Adriel sighed helplessly. "Nora, it's me. I'm fine."

"Adriel!" Joanne instantly burst into tears. "You scared me so bad. I couldn't reach you or Blaze. I was so worried."

Even through the phone, Adriel could picture her crying her eyes out. He quietly let her vent.

Joanne cried while scolding him at the same time. Only after calming down did she finally ask him to hand the phone back to Wynette.

"Joanne," Wynette said softly.

Joanne sniffled hard. "Wynette, please keep an eye on Adriel for me. I can't get back right now. I feel terrible leaving him alone, so please make sure he takes care of himself."

Wynette couldn't help laughing a little at her friend's worried rambling. Still, she gave her words.

After finally calming Joanne down, Wynette hung up.

By then, the doctor had already finished stitching Adriel's wound and was wrapping fresh bandages around his arm.

Once he finished, the doctor reminded him, "Keep the wound dry. Avoid spicy foods. Come back in a week to get the stitches removed.

"And try not to move your left arm too much. If the wound tears open again, it'll make things worse. A family member should go with him when he gets the anti-inflammatory shot."

The doctor then turned to Wynette and carefully explained all the precautions they needed to follow after the stitches.

Wynette listened closely and remembered everything.

After that, she helped Adriel toward the IV room.

Right then, Blaze had returned after paying the medical bills.

The moment he saw Wynette, he froze briefly. "Ms. Jewell."
