He Loves Me Right, Finally novel Chapter 151

Even Wynette had to admit Eve's plan was impressive.

Over the phone, Lorelei was cursing Eve nonstop. Every nasty insult possible came pouring through the speaker.

Wynette pulled the phone slightly away from her ear. She waited until Lorelei finished venting before speaking again. "I'll keep Edgar busy on my side," Wynette said calmly. "Whatever you're planning to do, move fast. I can't promise I can stall him for long."

This much, at least, Wynette could help with.

Lorelei sounded suspicious after hearing that. "Wynette, since when are you this nice?"

After everything she had done to sabotage Wynette, Lorelei did not believe she would suddenly let bygones be bygones.

Wynette snorted coldly. "Right now, we want the same thing. Helping you also helps me. But that doesn't mean our past is forgotten. Don't let me down."

Wynette knew exactly where she stood.

She was not helping Lorelei out of kindness. She did not think of herself as some saint.

What she needed was for Lorelei to stir up trouble inside the Shepherds.

The messier things became for the Shepherds, the better chance Wynette had to uncover the truth about what happened years ago.

That was the real reason she contacted Lorelei.

Wynette knew Lorelei would cling to Noah no matter what. Especially after the hints Wynette dropped at the hospital, there was no way Lorelei would ever give up now.

And from the beginning, that was precisely what Wynette wanted. She wanted Lorelei to keep sticking to Noah and cause chaos for the Shepherds.

The bigger the disaster, the better.

On the other end of the call, Lorelei answered proudly, "Good. Just wait for my good news. I promise I won't let you down."

Then she hung up immediately.

Wynette knew Lorelei's fighting spirit had already been fired up. She was not worried about what Lorelei would do next.

With Lorelei's personality, she would never let the Shepherds live in peace anyway. Wynette only needed to sit back and watch her do her thing.

For now, Wynette could only keep a close eye on Edgar Kain.

What really troubled her now was something else entirely. Where was she supposed to find models for the fashion show?

Just as Wynette was stressing over the problem, the model she had arranged to meet earlier suddenly showed up at the company.

The moment Wynette saw Shirley helping a tall woman with crutches into the office, she froze in surprise.

"Ms. Jewell, I'm Belinda Ford," the woman explained apologetically. "I got hit by a car right after I left home. I just got out of the hospital. When I went to the café, they told me you had already left."

She quickly added, "I wasn't trying to stand you up."

Belinda worried Wynette might misunderstand, so she came straight to her office to explain everything in person.

After hearing her explanation, Wynette asked Shirley to help Belinda sit on the couch. Then she told Shirley to bring her a glass of water.

Belinda smiled lightly. "Ms. Gallagher already told me about your situation. But with my leg like this, I probably can't help you myself."

She lifted her right leg, wrapped in a cast.

Honestly, she could not believe how unlucky she had been.

After thinking for a moment, Belinda looked at Wynette seriously. "To be honest, before I left home, I got another call besides yours. It was from an anonymous number. They warned me not to work with you. They said I'd regret it if I did."
