At this moment, no words could possibly describe how Adriel felt after hearing Wynette's confession.
He had dreamed of this day for a very long time.
Ever since he proposed the marriage license arrangement to lure Wynette into staying by his side, Adriel had already prepared himself for a long battle.
He had never intended to let her go.
Now that this day had truly arrived, the selfish desires he had buried deep inside himself began growing wildly out of control.
Adriel fixed Wynette with a sharp gaze and said, "Think carefully, because once you provoke me, you won't have the chance to escape anymore; my heart is very small, so small that it can only hold you alone, and since you've decided to walk into it, then I won't allow you to think about leaving.
"If you agree to let me pursue you, then for the rest of your life you'll only be tied to me, and if you ever dare think about running away..."
As he spoke, he quickly stepped in front of Wynette and wrapped his right arm around her waist before pulling her gently forward.
Adriel drew her into his arms and lowered his head beside her ear as he whispered softly, "Wynette, if you ever dare run away from me, I'll break your legs, lock you up with chains, and keep you imprisoned beside me forever.
"So even then, you still want to try with me? Wynette, in my eyes, your 'let's give this a shot' already means you accepted my confession, that you want to be with me, and once you agree, there's no taking it back."
As he spoke, Wynette could clearly feel the strength of his arm tightening around her waist.
Her body fit perfectly against his without the slightest gap.
Adriel lowered his voice and continued, "I'm an extremely possessive person, and once you agree to be with me, you won't be allowed to leave me for the rest of your life, so Wynette, do you still want to be with me?"
He was laying his heart bare in front of her and dissecting every hidden emotion inside it.
Not because he wanted Wynette to be afraid and retreat.
But because Adriel felt she deserved to know about the possessiveness and desire buried deep inside him.
He didn't mind exposing his obsession with her.
Sooner or later, she would have to know and face it.
Adriel simply wanted Wynette to be mentally prepared because once she nodded and agreed to be with him, then the two of them would be tied together for the rest of their lives.
He had never once imagined a future where he let her go, because he had never left himself any way out.
Feeling the burning warmth radiating from Adriel's body, Wynette understood that he was exposing the deepest parts of himself to her.
She could feel it clearly.
The force of Adriel's embrace kept tightening around her, and although he had always appeared gentle, mature, and composed in front of her, at this moment, Wynette could still sense the stubbornness hidden inside the man before her.
His stubbornness toward love and his obsession with her.
He was giving her a warning in advance, telling her to think carefully and not hand over her feelings impulsively just because she was momentarily touched.
Because once Wynette gave her heart away, Adriel would never allow her to take it back.
"Adriel, I..." Wynette hesitated softly.
After waiting for a moment, Adriel assumed he had frightened her and continued, "Are you scared? But this is the real me, and the reason I'm willing to give you time is that I'm afraid I'll move too aggressively and scare you away.
"If you're still not ready right now, it's okay, I can give you more time, I can wait, and I can afford to wait."
After all, he had already waited for so many years, so waiting a little longer meant nothing.
Adriel's words made Wynette's heart tighten painfully.
She didn't even know why, but instead of fear, what rose inside her after hearing him speak was an overwhelming ache.
It felt as though she could see Adriel struggling painfully inside himself.
From him, Wynette could see that his feelings for her were restrained, suppressed, and filled with hesitation to even touch her.
At this moment, she actually understood his inner conflict a little.
As long as he hadn't obtained her, he could still restrain himself and endure.
But once he did, he would inevitably want more, and it would no longer be as simple as quenching thirst with poison.
He wanted all of Wynette, inside and out, body and soul.
Adriel understood the obsession hidden deep in his heart better than anyone, which was why he had always restrained himself from getting too close to Wynette.

She said they should be together.
She said she would never leave him.
She said she swore it.
