Chapter 20 Are You Satisfied Now?
Noah had booked the best restaurant in Scenaville.
He was generous enough to reserve the entire floor.
But…
Wynette looked up at the sign that read “Rainmist House” and glanced sideways at Noah.
Sure enough, his expression looked worse than if he had swallowed a fly.
After all, Rainmist House belonged to the Gallagher Group.
In Scenaville, everyone knew Noah and Adriel didn’t get along.
That was obviously Lorelei’s doing.
She only wanted to make a splash and forgot such an important detail.

Completely oblivious to Noah’s displeasure, Lorelei looped her arm through his and said softly, “Noah, let’s go in.”
As she spoke, she shot Wynette a smug look from the corner of her eye.
Wynette noticed it, but she chose to ignore it.
To be fair, the food here was very much to Wynette’s taste.
She sat there eating with clear enjoyment, looking completely satisfied.
Seated across from her, Noah naturally noticed how good her appetite was. His grip on his fork tightened.
Was the food from Adriel’s restaurant really that satisfying to her?
Lorelei also noticed Noah’s gaze drifting toward Wynette again and again. She bit down hard, resentment bubbling inside.
She kept trying to pull his attention back.
But his responses were brief and distracted.
That only made Lorelei more annoyed.
Her eyes shifted thoughtfully before she finally picked up a wine glass and slowly stood up, walking toward Wynette.
“Wynette, this toast is for you. Thank you for putting aside past grudges and letting me join

the project.” With that, she was already standing in front of Wynette and holding out the glass.
Wynette looked at the wine being offered and frowned slightly.
She was allergic to grapes. Anything related to grapes was something she absolutely avoided.
And now Lorelei was handing her a glass of red wine.
What exactly was she trying to do?
Lorelei kept holding the glass out, her eyes already turning a little teary. “Wynette, are you still mad at me? I know my joining the project has caused inconvenience for everyone.
“I’ll drink three glasses as a penalty and apologize to everyone.”
Before Wynette could react, Lorelei tilted her head back and drained the wine in her hand.
She quickly drank three glasses in a row. By the time Noah tried to stop her, it was already too late.
Lorelei picked up another glass and filled it to the brim.
She held it out to Wynette again. “Wynette, let’s get along from now on. I really do want to share Noah’s burden.”
As she spoke, she pushed the glass closer to Wynette.
Wynette didn’t take it.
Leaving aside the fact that she was severely allergic to grapes. Even a tiny amount could send her into shock, let alone a full glass of wine.
Why should she accept a toast just because Lorelei offered it?
Wynette parted her lips. “No need-
Before she could finish refusing, Lorelei’s voice broke with emotion. “Wynette, are you still blaming me? Tell me what I need to do to earn your forgiveness.
“Just say it. As long as I can do it, I will. I could even drop down and apologize.”
As she spoke, she bent her knees as if about to drop to her knees in front of Wynette.
Wynette didn’t stop her.
She simply watched with mild amusement as Lorelei put on her little performance.
After all, Lorelei would never actually drop to her knees in front of her.

Noah, who had remained silent until now, finally snapped when he saw Lorelei about to drop
to her knees.
He strode forward, reached out, and pulled her up to stand beside him.
His eyes darkened as he looked at Wynette. “Lorelei has already lowered herself this much. Wynette, can’t you be a little more reasonable?”
Those words almost made Wynette laugh out loud. She retorted, “Do you think I’m being unreasonable?”
Even though her tone sounded flat, Noah could clearly hear the dissatisfaction underneath.
He opened his mouth several times, wanting to explain that he didn’t mean it that way.
But under Wynette’s accusing gaze, the words stuck in his throat.
Soon, Noah realized the rest of the studio staff were still there.
He squinted. Wynette’s attitude toward him in front of everyone had embarrassed him.
Pressing his lips together, Noah said coldly, “Lorelei has already taken the initiative to make peace. Wynette, don’t push your luck.”
Every word was full of protection for Lorelei.
It even implied that Wynette was being ungrateful and deliberately making things difficult for Lorelei.
Wynette found it laughable. “Just because she’s trying to make peace means I have to accept it?”
Her response left Noah no room to save dignity.
She had already been avoiding the two of them as much as possible, yet Noah kept bringing Lorelei around to provoke her again and again.
His lack of self-awareness was becoming increasingly irritating.
Hearing the sarcasm in her voice, Noah’s already dark expression grew even colder. “Wynette, don’t get carried away.
“Lorelei has never tried to compete with you. Stop acting like some crazy, jealous woman. It’s really annoying.”
Even now, he still believed Wynette was jealous of him and Lorelei.

In his mind, all of her recent behavior was because she was jealous.

Noah hated feeling controlled, especially when Wynette constantly suspected that he and Lorelei might rekindle their old relationship.
Then she’d argue with him about it like a madwoman.
It only made him more disgusted.
Wynette was stunned that he actually thought she was jealous.
He was so arrogant that it left her speechless.
Thinking of that, she sneered. “Nonsense.”
She slowly withdrew her gaze. If Noah wanted to stand up for Lorelei, that was his business.
But she had no interest in staying here and playing along.
Wynette didn’t want to argue further and turned to leave.
“Stop right there.”
Noah’s voice rang out again. “Wynette, try walking out today and see what happens. Maybe this studio doesn’t need to exist anymore.”
His words made everyone gasp.
Everyone glared at him, their expressions looking like they wanted to punch him.
Wynette stopped in her tracks, her back facing Noah.
