He Loves Me Right, Finally novel Chapter 30

Chapter 30 Fair Trade

However, the call was cut off the moment it connected.

Adriel tried calling again, but the result was the same.

Just as he was about to dial once more, a message came through.

Joanne wrote, “Bro, I’m in a meeting right now. If you need something, wait until I’m done and I’ll call you, OK?”

Adriel frowned at the message.

He did not quite believe it.

She had just been on the phone with Wynette not long ago, and now she was suddenly in a meeting.

Even though he had his doubts, Adriel decided not to call again.

He quickly typed out a message and sent it. Let me know the location for Wynette and Marcus’s meeting tomorrow.

After sending it, he immediately transferred 20,000 dollars.

He was not sure whether Joanne had seen the message yet. She had not replied.

Adriel took the test report and headed back to the hospital room.

Inside the room, after Adriel left, Wynette had started browsing office buildings in the downtown area.

There were several locations she liked, so she grabbed the medical chart beside her and wrote down the addresses.

She planned to visit those places in person after leaving the hospital.

When Adriel returned, he saw Wynette sitting on the bed with her head lowered, writing something.

He slowed his steps and walked over to her.

Only then did he notice the addresses and contact numbers she had written down.

“You’re looking for an office location?” Adriel asked.

He glanced at the places listed on the paper. Several of them were not far from Gallagher Group’s headquarters.

Most of them were around the Twinpeak Tower area.

Wynette jumped slightly when she heard his voice. “You’re back.”

Seeing her startled expression made Adriel laugh. “What are you writing all this for?”

He brought the conversation back to the paper in her hands.

Wynette glanced at the page before answering, “I’m planning to set up a new studio somewhere else.”

The idea had formed the moment she decided to sell her shares in the studio she built with Noah.

Once she left, Noah might not treat the teammates who built the studio with her very well.

Especially now that Lorelei was involved in the studio.

If the conflict was only directed at her, she could deal with it.

What she feared most was dragging those kind people into the mess.

So Wynette planned to start a new studio. If things became unbearable over there, those teammates would at least have somewhere else to go.

Adriel spoke in surprise. “Another game studio?”

So she planned to compete directly against Noah.

But after thinking about it carefully, Adriel felt that did not sound like Wynette.

In his memory, Wynette was someone who could let go when needed. She loved fiercely and hated just as decisively. She would never create a studio just to get revenge on Noah.

Then what was the reason?

Wynette nodded. “Yeah. I might be leaving, but those people worked hard with me from the start. If things become uncomfortable there or if anyone wants to leave, they should have somewhere to go.”

The job market was tough right now, especially in game development. Finding a new position

was not easy.

Since she still had the ability to do it, starting another studio was not difficult for her.

Adriel had not expected that answer.

He looked at Wynette with his lips pressed together. After a moment, he said, “The locations you picked are good areas, but the rent is extremely high. For a startup, that’s not a good deal.”

“This one, and this one, and this one. The spaces available in these buildings aren’t suitable for the environment a game studio needs.”

Adriel pointed at several addresses Wynette had written down and explained the environment and cost issues with each location.

He continued, “And these ones are either near Shepherd Group or close to your current studio. I doubt you want any more connections or entanglements with Noah.”

Wynette looked at the last few locations Adriel pointed out.

He was right.

When she first saw those listings, the only thing she noticed was that they were near Shepherd Group or close to the studio she used to run.

Now that things between her and Noah had reached this point, those places were not her first

choice.

That was why she had placed them at the bottom of the list.

Her plan had been to visit the earlier locations first. If none of them worked out, she would consider those options last.

They were meant to be backup choices.

But after hearing Adriel’s analysis, Wynette suddenly felt a headache coming on.

According to him, every option on her list could be eliminated.

That meant she had to start searching all over again.

Adriel noticed the discouraged look on her face and watched her quietly. “I actually have a good location in mind.”

“Where?” Wynette looked at him with sudden excitement.

She had been worrying about this problem, and Adriel’s words gave her a bit of hope.

Adriel cleared his throat. “The entire Z88 floor in Twinpeak Tower is empty.”

Twinpeak Tower?

Wynette looked at him suspiciously. “Gallagher Group’s headquarters?”

Is he playing with me?

Twinpeak Tower was basically the landmark building of Scenaville.

It had been built by Gallagher Group.

All of Gallagher Group’s operations were based there.

It was the company’s headquarters.

Had this man lost his mind? He was suggesting she place her studio inside Gallagher Group’s headquarters.

And…

Z88, if she remembered correctly, was the floor with the best view in the entire building.

The whole level was designed as an open layout with huge floor to ceiling glass walls. It offered a full 360-degree panoramic view of Scenaville.

Wynette could not help wondering whether Adriel was teasing her.

After all, Twinpeak Tower had never been rented out to outside companies.

Even if they did make an exception, she doubted she could afford the rent there.

Adriel looked completely serious. “I’m serious. Think about it.”

“That floor is empty anyway. You don’t need to feel pressured. Since you agreed to register our marriage, you’re the future Mrs. Gallagher. Setting up your studio at your own family’s headquarters is perfectly normal.”

He reminded Wynette that she was not an outsider.

The moment she agreed to marry him, she was already considered part of the Gallaghers.

And helping family was only natural.

Wynette shook her head. “That’s different, Adriel. Our marriage is just an agreement. I can’t take advantage of you like that.”

She rejected the offer without hesitation.

When he first approached her, he had made it clear that she was only helping him deal with his family situation.

Their marriage was contractual, and they would sign a prenuptial agreement.

Wynette had her own principles.

“Even if it’s a contract, we agreed that you would help me solve my problem as well. Wynette, it’s an equal exchange. Neither of us loses anything.” Adriel insisted.
