Joanne glared at Wynette, clearly annoyed. “Listen to yourself. You said you’d do anything to launch that game. And now what? You gave up anyway. So what if it meant everything to you-”
She stopped herself before finishing.
Whatever she was about to say, it wasn’t nice.
She put her hands on her hips, still fuming. “I told you back then I could invest, but you said no. Fine. After the way Noah acted, forget the game. It’s not worth it.”
She let out a cold laugh.
If Noah were standing in front of her right now, she would slap him hard twice.
Her frustration toward him had been building for a long time.
Before, she held back for Wynette’s sake. She didn’t want to make things harder for her.
But now that Wynette had decided to cut ties for good, Joanne had nothing left to hold back.
Right in front of Wynette, she went off on Noah.
The insults came one after another, each worse than the last.
By the end. Joanne was so worked up she was waving her fists, saying that next time she saw Noah, she’d make that jerk regret everything.
Wynette didn’t try to stop her emotional friend. She just let her vent.
She even handed Joanne a glass of water.
After ranting for more than ten minutes, Joanne finally started to calm down.
She caught a glimpse of Wynette smiling and snorted. “You’re smiling? At least you’ve finally woken up. But listen, you better stick to it. Don’t go soft just because that jerk says a few nice things.”
Her tone sounded rough, but it was full of care.
Every time Joanne thought about what Noah had done over the years–especially after Lorelei came back- she got even angrier. He only acted like that because he knew Wynette still cared about him.
Wynette raised her hand like she was taking an oath. “I swear, I won’t forgive Noah again. If I break this promise, then I-
“Hey! Stop that!” Joanne quickly covered her mouth.
She glared at her. “Don’t swear for a jerk like him. It’s not worth it. Be nicer to yourself, okay? He doesn’t deserve it.”
It really made her mad.

Chapter 38 A Fresh Start and a Wild Plan
She knew Wynette was just trying to reassure her, but still…
If anyone deserved a tragic death, it should be Noah, not her.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. She wished she could curse him on the spot.
A two–timer like him deserved a harsh punishment.
The more Joanne thought about it, the angrier she got. She wished she could slap him,
If she could, she’d curse Noah being impotent for the rest of his life.

Wynette watched her puffed–up cheeks and smiled. She reached out and poked her. “This time, I mean it. If something won’t stay, it’s better to let it go. To me, Noah is as good as gone. I won’t be foolish again.”
As she spoke, Wynette slipped an arm around Joanne’s shoulders and leaned lightly against her. “Alright, don’t be mad. He’s not worth it.”
After hearing that, Joanne finally calmed down a little.
She looked at Wynette with a small pout. “Fine. Then you’re buying me coffee. I just got back, and I’m exhausted.”
“How did your case go?” Wynette asked.
She knew Joanne had been busy with a financial case lately. It wasn’t too hard for her.
Joanne puffed up with pride and tapped her chest. “Perfect win. I got a pretty big bonus too. When it comes in, I’ll take you out for a big dinner.”
