Twenty minutes later, Sebastian slammed his car into park and stalked directly into The Night Market.
Night had fully fallen over Riverton.
The bustling street was jam-packed with people.
But even in the dense crowd, Sebastian spotted Helena instantly.
She was standing in line at a boba stall.
Helena had a massive sweet tooth, something Sebastian despised.
Because of that, she always accommodated his tastes at home.
After she suffered a miscarriage and struggled to get pregnant again, Grace Dale had relentlessly micromanaged her diet.
Helena hadn't touched a sugary drink in years.
Now, standing at the stall, Helena was laughing brightly, chatting effortlessly with the person beside her.
Genuine joy danced in her eyes.
He scoffed bitterly.
How the hell did she get to ruin his entire night, throw his life into absolute chaos, and then stand here sipping boba like nothing had happened?
Sebastian clenched his fists and stalked toward her, his expression lethal.
His dominating presence practically radiated violence.
Pedestrians instinctively scrambled out of his warpath.
Helena sensed his arrival almost immediately.
The bright smile instantly melted off her face, replaced by a cold, apathetic mask.
She met his gaze steadily, completely unshaken.
Sophia noticed him too and immediately threw herself in front of Helena, acting as a human shield.
"What the hell do you want, Sebastian?!" Sophia demanded aggressively.
Sebastian didn't even acknowledge her existence. He forcefully shoved her out of the way.
His eyes burned with dark cruelty, radiating an authority that refused to be defied.
The surrounding crowd let out collective gasps of shock.
"Sophia!" Helena rushed toward her friend in a panic.
She knew exactly how ruthless and borderline psychotic Sebastian could be.
She was terrified he would seriously hurt her.
Sophia had slammed her head against a metal stool as she fell, a thin trickle of blood sliding down her temple.
Despite the hit, she still tried to reassure Helena.
