He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 128

Helena offered a small smile but didn't take the bait. "Let's go. We can't stick around here."

"You got it." Sophia gunned the engine and peeled away from the curb.

It wasn't until they hit the main highway that she glanced over at Helena. "Lena, what's your endgame here? If it were me, I'd cut ties with Sebastian for good. I'd make sure he never found me, and I'd watch him lose those shares in the process!"

Helena listened quietly, not answering right away.

Seeing her silence, Sophia grew concerned. "Lena..."

Helena looked up and flashed her a reassuring smile. "Take us to The Night Market."

Sophia blinked in confusion. "Why The Night Market?"

"To celebrate putting Janetta in her place," Helena replied evenly.

She then lowered her gaze, offering a quiet explanation. "I can't just disappear on him completely. He still has Wynn Wallace. I saw Wynn the other day. He still has a fierce will to live. I can't just abandon him. I want to get Wynn the help he needs, pull him out of that hell, and start over."

"..."

"Also, someone from the Everett family cornered me earlier. I haven't told Lance yet. If Lance's resources are compromised, I need to start looking for new connections."

Helena calmly laid out her entire plan.

She knew perfectly well that today's stunt was merely about humiliating Janetta.

She wasn't a pushover, and she refused to let Janetta parade around like she owned the world anymore.

Her past compliance and submission had simply been a desperate attempt to salvage her marriage with Sebastian.

Now that she was entirely done with him, she refused to play the victim ever again.

"Lena, I'm still worried. If you keep pushing him like this..." Sophia said, her brows knitting together in anxiety.

Helena, however, remained resolute. "Don't be. At least for right now, I have all the leverage. Sebastian needs the baby I'm carrying. He has to make sure this pregnancy goes perfectly. I'm not even at twenty weeks yet. Even if he wanted to cut this baby out of me to secure his position, the baby wouldn't survive. No matter how violently he fights me on this, he has no choice but to back down."

Sophia couldn't argue with that logic.

Choosing to trust her friend, she dropped the subject and steered the car straight toward The Night Market.
