He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 13

Sebastian's brows were tightly knit in visible irritation.

Helena had never given him the cold shoulder like this before.

It was a jarring contrast to the woman who used to text him morning, noon, and night to ensure he was taken care of.

Was she throwing a tantrum just because Janetta was pregnant?

How dare she!

The more he thought about it, the darker his expression became.

He slid into his car and floored the gas pedal, speeding toward Apex Villa.

When he arrived, the house was suffocatingly quiet.

That familiar, faint scent of jasmine was completely gone.

In the past, the moment his car pulled into the driveway, Helena would be waiting for him in the foyer.

Now, she was nowhere to be seen.

Was she still sulking? It was utterly ridiculous!

His frown deepened, impatience flaring in his striking eyes.

The butler spotted him and looked surprised, hurrying over. "Mr. Hayes, you're home."

"Where is she?" Sebastian demanded, his voice dangerously low.

The butler blinked, taken aback. "Mrs. Hayes left."

"When?" The crease between his brows deepened.

"A week ago. But she mentioned she had already discussed it with you." The butler looked entirely bewildered.

Sebastian didn't say another word, striding past him toward the master suite.

He threw the door open. The bedroom was cold and devoid of life, as if no one had slept there in years.

Her skincare and makeup were missing from the vanity.

Her everyday clothes were gone from the walk-in closet.

He quickly wrenched open the hidden drawer in the safe—her passport and ID were missing, too.

Perfect.

Was she trying to use this to get his attention?

Sebastian aggressively loosened his tie, grabbed his phone, and dialed her number.

"Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently powered off," the automated voice cheerfully informed him.
