Sebastian didn't return to the estate.
That evening, the family's legal counsel arrived. Helena was slightly surprised to see him but greeted him politely. "Mr. Heath, it's been a while."
The last time they had spoken was at his grandfather's funeral.
Mr. Heath offered a professional smile. "Mrs. Hayes. Mr. Hayes asked me to drop by."
"Please, have a seat," she gestured.
The butler quickly brought in coffee and pastries before silently dismissing himself, leaving Helena and Mr. Heath alone in the parlor.
Mr. Heath placed a folder on the coffee table. Helena's heart suddenly picked up its pace. Printed boldly across the cover were the words: *Divorce Agreement*.
"Mr. Hayes had me draft this. Please review it and let me know if you have any questions," Mr. Heath stated formally.
"Alright," she replied.
She opened the document and skimmed through it. Then, she froze in stunned silence.
This was entirely different from the terms she had proposed. She had requested to leave with nothing—a completely clean break. But Sebastian was giving her over a hundred million dollars in cash and several luxury properties. It was enough wealth to ensure she could live extravagantly for the rest of her life.
She sat there, completely quiet, her eyes locked on the final page. Sebastian's signature was already scrawled at the bottom in bold ink.
All she had to do was sign her name, and once she gave birth, the papers would take effect. They would officially have nothing to do with each other.
It was everything she had begged and fought for, yet now that it was handed to her so easily, she felt a sudden, inexplicable wave of emotion wash over her.
She simply stared at the page, wordless.
Mr. Heath slid a pen across the table. "Mrs. Hayes, this is Mr. Hayes's intent. You've been married for seven years. At the very least, he wants to ensure your future is secure and comfortable. You don't need to overthink it; there are no hidden clauses in this agreement."
