"Sebastian, I know how important Helena's baby is to you, but I can't let my own child die in vain. The way he was taken from us... it was so brutal. I want to sue Helena for what she did. Is that alright?" Janetta Ramirez asked the question with practiced caution.
She acted terrified of interfering with his plans.
She even offered a thoughtful explanation. "My feud with her has gone on for so long. I'm afraid the public will start asking questions, and it might put you in a difficult position. Taking legal action is the best route. The law is impartial, and we can pull the security footage to show the world the truth."
Janetta spoke softly, her emotions seemingly much calmer than before.
Her hands were balled into tight fists.
Her complexion remained frighteningly pale.
"I understand Helena. I know she's always seen me as the homewrecker who ruined your marriage."
"But I'm not. We were together for ten years before she ever came along. She's the real homewrecker."
Janetta's voice broke at all the right moments, making every word sound entirely justified.
"I was a mother, too. I had a baby. I just can't accept that my child is gone." By the end of her speech, the tears were falling again.
She looked up at Sebastian through wet lashes, waiting for his verdict.
She needed him to side with her unconditionally.
"Do whatever you need to do, Janetta. I won't stop you," Sebastian replied bluntly.
His words seemed to grant her a massive wave of relief.
She gazed up at him, her eyes shining with fragile adoration.
"Sebastian," she murmured softly.
He offered a low hum in response.
"Let's get married. Please?" she pleaded.
Her eyes were brimming with anticipation.
Sebastian wasn't stupid.
He knew marriage had been her ultimate goal for a long time.
Previously, because of his grandfather's interference, she had been barred from joining the Hayes family.
