He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 355

Sebastian's sudden appearance meant nothing to her.

To Helena, his presence was merely a calculated move to ensure his precious heir was safe.

Their relationship had deteriorated past the point of no return.

There was no need for explosive fights, and certainly no need for fake smiles.

"Mm," Sebastian grunted in response.

He didn't show much emotion either.

Helena bent down and slid into the back seat of the car.

Without missing a beat, Sebastian climbed in right after her.

Helena frowned slightly, glancing over at him.

Her lips parted as if to speak, but she swallowed the words.

"What do you want to say?" Surprisingly, it was Sebastian who broke the silence.

"Nothing," Helena replied, her voice completely hollow.

The car pulled away from the curb, heading steadily toward the hospital.

The baby in her womb was unusually still today.

Helena's hand instinctively drifted to rest protectively over her belly.

It was a mother's primal reflex.

Sebastian noticed the movement immediately. "Are you hurting?"

"No," she answered, still maintaining her icy facade.

His gaze darkened as he stared at her profile.

Helena ignored him entirely, keeping her eyes glued to the passing scenery outside the window.

Through the faint reflection on the glass, she could see the tight, rigid lines of his jaw.

But she genuinely couldn't care less anymore.

She had fully embraced the numbness of having nothing left to lose.

"Sebastian!" Helena suddenly gasped in shock.

He had violently yanked her by the shoulder, forcing her to face him.

She stared back at him, totally caught off guard.

"Are you feeling untouchable now?" His voice was a low, dangerous rumble. "Don't think you can walk all over me just because I've given you a little leeway."

Helena merely smiled at him—a cold, empty smile.

It was as if his barely suppressed rage didn't register with her at all.

"Alright, do you need me to play along, Mr. Hayes?" she asked bluntly.

That single sentence only fueled his fury.

Did he want her to play along?

No.

Perhaps it was because she had stopped looking at him with adoring eyes.

Now, he found himself craving the version of Helena whose entire world revolved around him.

And the more he craved it, the more desperate he felt to violently force everything back to the way it used to be.

And someone desperate for a clean break would be keeping their head down.

Why would she suddenly lose her mind and stab Janetta out of nowhere?

But on the flip side, Janetta had absolutely no reason to plunge a knife into her own stomach either.

The sheer chaos of the entire situation twisted into a massive knot in his brain.

"Helena, I'm asking you one last time. What exactly happened that day?" Sebastian finally broke the silence.

"Janetta told me Wynn was dead, so I pushed her," Helena answered, her tone completely devoid of emotion.

He asked, and she answered.

She had repeated this exact story a thousand times.

There wasn't a single trace of deception in her steady gaze.

Faced with her blunt honesty, Sebastian fell silent.

She wasn't lying.

He realized she had misunderstood what he was really asking.

If she had done it, she would have owned up to it.

But since she didn't, she absolutely refused to take the fall for it.

As Sebastian sank deeper into his thoughts, the car pulled up to the hospital entrance.

Helena turned to open her door.

But Sebastian was faster, throwing his arm out to block her.
