He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 374

That issue was temporarily put to rest.

Leaving the police, Sebastian headed straight back to Janetta's hospital room.

The moment Janetta saw him, she knew exactly why he was there.

She didn't miss a beat.

Taking the offensive immediately, she asked, "Are you here because of Helena?"

Sebastian didn't deny it.

"Then save your breath. I'm just seeking justice. She's already given birth, and the police are simply following standard procedure. Talking to me won't change anything," Janetta rejected him outright.

Sebastian stared quietly at her. "Does it really have to go this far? She's literally in the ICU right now."

Janetta let out a soft, mocking laugh.

It dripped with pure disdain.

Her tone grew razor-sharp as she spoke directly to him.

"Sebastian, I've endured everything, and I've compromised at every turn. What more do you want from me? There is absolutely no way I'm letting this go," Janetta enunciated, making her stance perfectly clear.

She sounded utterly heartbroken.

Yet, every single word felt calculated and justified.

"I have my principles too. She is a mother, but so am I. The only difference is that my baby didn't make it out alive."

Janetta continued framing herself as the victim of reason.

Hearing this, Sebastian's hands curled into tight fists.

He was the one trapped in the middle, caught in an impossible deadlock.

The horrifying image of that mangled, bloody fetus was still burned into his memory.

And it wasn't just him.

Grace Dale still hadn't recovered from the trauma either.

She had been severely depressed at home for weeks.

After all, this was the grandson Grace had been anticipating for so long.

Gone in an instant, and in the most gruesome way imaginable.

Because of that, Sebastian found himself unable to completely shut Janetta down.

Janetta laid out her terms perfectly.

But deep down, she was absolutely certain that Helena's baby was not going to live.

Nor would she allow Helena to survive.

But before any of that happened, she needed to secure Helena's cornea.

And she needed Sebastian's solemn vow.

"If you agree, I want you to announce this publicly. That's worth more than any contract," Janetta pressed, cornering him step by step.

Sebastian simply stared at her, offering no immediate response.

Janetta didn't seem to care.

She offered a faint, gentle smile. "Sebastian, I've never forced anyone to do anything. You know me, I would never put you in a difficult position."

"The choice is entirely yours. But surely I have the right to seek justice for my dead baby, don't I?"

"He can't have died for nothing. If I let this go, he would never forgive his mommy in heaven."

She spoke with overwhelming, tragic sincerity.
