He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 579

Helena suddenly understood exactly what Julian was doing.

He was slowly escalating his presence.

But beneath that careful approach was a glaring sense of insecurity.

An insecurity entirely triggered by Sebastian's sudden reappearance.

Helena kept her eyes shut tight and said nothing.

Having Julian in her bed actually jolted her fully awake.

But neither of them dared to shatter the fragile silence.

Eventually, she heard the deep, even cadence of his breathing behind her.

Only then did she finally allow her muscles to relax.

By the time the sun began to rise, she finally fell asleep.

Julian opened his eyes the very second her breathing leveled out into a deep slumber.

He watched her back in silence, not making a sound.

The atmosphere in the room wasn't necessarily toxic, but it certainly wasn't peaceful.

...

When Helena finally woke up, it was already noon.

Julian had already prepared lunch; she smelled it the second she walked out of the master bedroom.

"You're up? Come eat," he said smoothly. "I'll drive you to the airport after."

"Okay," she nodded.

Neither of them brought up what happened last night.

She noticed her suitcase was already neatly packed and waiting by the front door.

By the time she sat down at the table, Julian had already plated her food.

She ate quietly while he kept her company.

"I'll be attending the opening ceremony for Destiny's Choice too," Julian mentioned casually.

Helena paused, looking up in surprise. "Why the sudden interest?"

Julian wasn't the public face of Epoch Pictures, even though he was the majority shareholder behind the scenes.

He never bothered showing up to superficial events like this.

"My wife will be there. Why shouldn't I? Besides, I have a few deals to close in Riverton anyway," he said with smooth confidence.

"Alright. Let me know when you land, and I'll come pick you up," she offered.

"Deal," he smiled.

They ate in comfortable silence, with Julian steering the conversation to lighter topics.
