His expression remained indifferent, completely unbothered by her sudden appearance.
"Sebastian..." Janetta murmured, momentarily taken aback by his icy demeanor.
He didn't speak, merely staring at her in silence.
Being scrutinized by him made a shiver run down her spine.
But the thought of Helena quickly reignited her temper.
Always calculating, she found a reasonable excuse to mask her jealousy.
"Did Kyle go to school? It was raining so heavily this morning. I came over as soon as it stopped," Janetta said, faking a tone of maternal concern.
"He's at school," Sebastian replied flatly.
Janetta nodded. "You know, he could have just taken the day off."
Sebastian offered no response to that, simply glancing down at his watch. "I have a meeting."
The implication was clear—he had no intention of wasting time with her here.
With that, he turned and headed toward his car.
Carter Miles was already waiting by the vehicle.
"Sebastian!" Janetta cried out, quickly grabbing his arm.
He glanced down at her hand, his brows furrowing as his eyes darkened with displeasure.
It was a clear sign of his annoyance.
Anyone who knew him knew exactly what that look meant.
And Janetta certainly knew.
But the sight of Helena leaving this very spot was like a thorn in her side, irritating every nerve in her body.
"I just saw Ms. Wallace. Why was she here?" she demanded, struggling to keep her temper in check.
At the mention of Helena, his gaze grew even colder. "And?"
