Sebastian despised it when Janetta showed up at the office.
When they first married, she had paraded in using her title as Mrs. Hayes.
He had reprimanded her severely for it afterward.
Now, she was willingly walking right into a trap.
"No buts!" Janetta snapped tersely.
Her tone left no room for argument.
Her assistant nodded immediately. "Understood. I'll book a restaurant and contact Carter Miles."
Only then did Janetta look slightly appeased.
The signing ceremony between The Hayes Corporation and IGM began shortly after.
All the terms had been ironed out beforehand, making this merely a formality.
It took place in one of the company's grand public conference rooms.
Media from both Coralia and Riverton were present.
The ceremony went off without a hitch.
The reporters stuck to business, focusing entirely on the development of the two conglomerates rather than the gossip.
Sebastian and Helena answered their respective questions flawlessly.
They sat side-by-side.
Their answers were perfectly synchronized, leaving just enough diplomatic space for each other.
They looked like the ultimate professional partners.
Under the table, however, Helena's hand was pressed firmly against her stomach.
The cramp hadn't faded; it was only growing sharper.
Sebastian caught the subtle movement.
He frowned slightly, though his face remained a mask of indifference.
Leaning over to Carter Miles, he muttered, "No press interviews after this. If they insist, leave the project managers to handle it. Clear out the reporters."
Carter looked surprised but nodded.
Once the signing concluded, Sebastian stood up and extended a hand to Helena. "A pleasure doing business with you, Ms. Wallace."
"Likewise," Helena replied evenly.
Their handshake was brief and strictly professional.
Then, Carter took control of the room.
Sebastian gestured toward the door.
Helena was slightly taken aback.
