Helena maintained her flawless composure.
Suddenly, Sebastian leaned in.
Her heart slammed against her ribs.
He braced his hands on the edge of the mattress, his handsome face moving agonizingly close to hers.
They were inches apart.
Close enough to hear each other's rapid heartbeats, close enough to breathe in each other's scent.
Even then, she didn't flinch or look away.
"What exactly are you trying to do, Mr. Hayes?" she challenged softly.
His eyes darkened as he stared at her lips.
Because of how closely he was hovering, their mouths brushed with every syllable.
"What's your answer, Helena?" he demanded, his voice a low rumble. "The opening ceremony for Destiny's Choice is this Monday. You are out of options. You can either delay the shoot and rebuild the set elsewhere, which won't meet Director Leo Dalton's standards. Or you can build an exact replica, which will bleed your budget dry. Your only other choice is to surrender. Well?"
He laid out the trap perfectly.
She knew she was cornered.
It wasn't about the production crew or the director running out of time.
It was about her running out of time.
The longer the shoot was delayed, the higher the chance the script would leak to the cast.
Once Janetta read it, she would immediately recognize the plot.
Given how incredibly paranoid Janetta was, she would definitely connect the dots.
Furthermore, Helena had zero desire to drag this game out with him any longer than necessary.
The moment her true identity was exposed, she needed her revenge to be an absolute certainty.
Looking up at him, she stayed perfectly still.
"It seems I don't really have a choice, do I?" she asked, a mocking smile playing on her lips.
It wasn't a question; it was a negotiation.
He recognized the shift instantly and waited.
