Sebastian handed the files back to Carter, his expression still deeply thoughtful.
"Is there anything else, Mr. Hayes?" Carter asked proactively.
Sebastian's gaze darkened as he looked quietly at his assistant.
"Kyle was conceived via IVF. Find the surrogate who carried him," Sebastian ordered calmly.
Carter froze for a moment, unable to process the command right away.
This was a matter Carter was already familiar with.
After all, Janetta had never kept it a secret.
Back then, Helena had stabbed Janetta, resulting in the loss of Janetta's baby and severe damage to her uterus.
As a result, she could no longer conceive.
Kyle was born through a special arrangement Janetta had made.
The Hayes Estate had even run a paternity test, confirming beyond a doubt that Kyle was indeed Sebastian's son.
Otherwise, the family would never have allowed some random child to claim their name.
But now, was Sebastian starting to doubt it?
Carter wasn't entirely sure.
Noticing his assistant's confusion, Sebastian delivered his point flatly.
"Tell me, under what circumstances would a person feel absolutely zero affection for their own child?" he asked.
Carter answered almost instinctively, "When there's no relation at all."
Then, realization hit him like a freight train.
"You suspect the boy has no biological connection to the Madam, but is still related to you. Is that it?" Carter asked, keeping his voice level.
Sebastian didn't deny it.
"Even if she didn't carry Kyle herself, as long as he shares her blood, it's impossible for her to feel absolutely nothing for him," Sebastian stated clearly.
He immediately followed up with another command. "While you're at it, get in touch with the doctor who treated her back then. I want to speak with him."
"Understood. I'll get right on it," Carter nodded.
Carter left to carry out the orders.
The resting room fell completely silent.
