He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 719

He stood up leisurely, flawlessly deleting his end of the conversation until the chat looked exactly as it had before he commandeered it.

Playing it totally cool, he grabbed a stack of clean pajamas and walked over to the bathroom.

Kyle bounced out, humming happily to himself.

He handed the boy his clothes, and Kyle slipped them on without a fuss.

The kid immediately snatched his phone back to keep texting Helena.

Sebastian watched him with calculated indifference.

Clearly, she had wrapped up the conversation on her end.

Because after just a few minutes, Kyle tossed the phone aside, looking visibly disappointed.

He looked up with pleading eyes. "Daddy, can we go to Coralia?"

"When you have a break from school," Sebastian promised in a low rumble.

"Really?" Kyle's face lit up, absolutely ecstatic.

"Yeah," he confirmed, keeping his face perfectly neutral.

Satisfied with the promise, the boy didn't nag him about the trip any further.

And Sebastian easily steered his son's attention onto something else.

Meanwhile—

Helena stared down at WhatsApp, her breath hitching when that strange question had popped up on the screen.

Every instinct she possessed had screamed that something was off.

But he was just a kid; what could he possibly know?

So, after a moment of hesitation, she had brushed off her paranoia.

She simply answered his question truthfully.

Yet, long after hitting send, she sat in complete silence.

An impossibly vivid image of him, standing tall in fitted black slacks and a sharp white shirt, flooded her mind.

It had always been her favorite way to see him dressed.

Perhaps it was because that was exactly what he was wearing the very first time she laid eyes on him, sealing her fate.

But the brutal reality of everything that had happened since had bled the color from those memories.

Until absolutely nothing was left between them but pure, concentrated hatred.

Any trace of love had been annihilated long ago.

She snapped herself out of it, refusing to let her mind wander down that treacherous path.

She forced every lingering thought of him out of her head.

Rising from her desk, she strode purposefully toward the boardroom.

...

The Hayes Estate.

Sebastian was reading a picture book to his son.

Carter's phone call abruptly shattered the peaceful moment.

Kyle, completely used to his father's schedule, waved him off like a champ.

"Go ahead and take it, Daddy. I can read the rest by myself," he chirped.

"Good boy," he murmured, rising from the edge of the bed.

As he stepped into the hallway, his eyes hardened into cold steel.

He brought the phone to his ear. "Do you have something?"

Carter's voice rushed over the line. "Mr. Hayes, we found the doctor who delivered Shayla's baby, but we're too late. He passed away. However, his assistant moved out of the country years ago and just secretly returned to Riverton a few days ago. I tracked him down. Can you come see him now? This is a lot more twisted than we originally thought."

His jaw locked tight. "I'm on my way."

He grabbed his car keys and walked straight out the front door without another word.

"There's something else," Carter added quickly. "We managed to run DNA against the egg donor. She's not the young master's biological mother either. She has zero relation to him. The assistant will have to give you the rest of the details in person."
