He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 725

Helena stepped out of her apartment to wait for Skye by the elevators.

Julian had a business dinner tonight anyway and hadn't come home yet.

Soon, she watched the digital display as the elevator began its ascent.

She waited patiently.

When the elevator stopped at her penthouse floor, Helena spoke up. "Skye, next time could you just call me so I can come down and get you?"

The doors slid open just as she finished her sentence, and her voice immediately died in her throat.

It was Sebastian carrying Skye out of the elevator.

Skye wiggled a bit and slid out of his arms.

"Lena, I made it," Skye grumbled softly.

Sebastian was the one who offered an explanation. "Skye went to the wrong tower. She ended up at my place, so I brought her over."

He kept it brief, devoid of any exaggeration.

Helena frowned. "You live here?"

"Yes. I bought a place in Coralia a long time ago, I just never moved in," he replied coolly.

Helena didn't respond, sinking further into silence.

She knew the penthouse in the neighboring tower had been sold ages ago.

But it had remained vacant, so no one knew who the owner was.

It never crossed her mind that it would turn out to be Sebastian.

Keeping her composure, she said evenly, "Alright. Thanks for bringing her back."

Her tone was flat, making it perfectly clear she had no desire to chat.

She quickly took Skye's hand and headed back toward her door in silence.

Sebastian stood exactly where he was, his expression unreadable.

Clearly, Julian wasn't home.

Otherwise, the man would have definitely stepped out to confront him.

Sebastian remained quiet.

He didn't follow them, but he didn't leave either.

Helena was hyper-aware of his lingering presence, and Skye was shooting nervous glances her way.

With that said, she turned on her heel and headed inside without missing a beat.

But her heart was hammering against her ribs, thick with anxiety.

She was terrified of any more unexpected curveballs.

Just as she turned, his voice drifted over, smooth and casual. "Did Julian force you to make that decision?"

"It was my choice," she shot back.

Sebastian's eyes remained pinned on her, unblinking.

Helena simply gave a curt nod.

She couldn't read him, nor did she want to try.

Yet, as she moved to close the door, the memory of the recent tabloid frenzy hijacked her thoughts.

Sebastian and Janetta were getting divorced.

Was she the reason?

The very idea felt utterly absurd as it crossed her mind.

She refused to dwell on it, determined to avoid inviting any unnecessary chaos into her life.
