But in the next second, Sebastian's hand clamped down on her wrist.
Helena glared at him. "Sebastian, let go."
"You're right, I have no say in your choices," he replied, his tone infuriatingly leisurely.
Her scowl deepened.
"But you don't get a say in mine either, do you?" he asked smoothly.
Helena fell silent.
She couldn't argue with that logic.
Maintaining her composure, she yanked her hand free.
He tightened his grip for a fraction of a second, but ultimately let her pull away.
Helena let out a dry scoff. "Sebastian, don't tell me you've fallen for me and you're trying to win me over?"
He neither confirmed nor denied it.
"Fine, do whatever you want. But I have zero intention of giving up my place as Mrs. Campbell," she stated coldly.
"Aside from a business partnership, there will be nothing between us. Furthermore, our collaboration won't require us to meet face-to-face. Our subordinates will handle the details."
Having made her stance crystal clear, Helena turned her back on him completely.
Sebastian stood frozen, his lips parting slightly.
But the words died on his tongue.
Suddenly, Skye sprinted out of her bedroom wearing nothing but her shorts, dripping wet from head to toe.
"What happened?" Helena immediately rushed toward her.
Without a second thought, Sebastian stepped inside the apartment and hurried over as well.
Skye patted her chest, looking terrified. "A... a roach... in the bathroom..."
The little girl looked ready to burst into tears, her voice trembling. "And the lights... they went out. It was all dark and super scary."
With that, the tears began to fall.
Helena found it completely bizarre. How could there be a cockroach, let alone a blown fuse?
This was the most exclusive luxury building in Coralia; these kinds of maintenance issues were virtually unheard of.
Yet, it had to happen the exact moment Skye was here.
Since the guest room was reserved solely for Skye, who rarely stayed over, it wasn't used often.
Helena felt incredibly awkward and hurried after them.
To get to the bathroom, they naturally had to pass through the walk-in closet.
Julian's and Helena's clothes hung side-by-side in perfectly neat rows.
Sebastian's eyes darkened noticeably at the sight.
He scanned the shared space but kept his mouth shut.
He set Skye down in the glass shower stall.
Helena finally snapped out of her daze and rushed in.
It was Skye who suddenly felt shy. "Get out, get out! I can wash myself."
She was actually quite independent for her age.
Helena nodded. "I'll be right outside. Yell if you need anything."
"I know, I know," Skye chimed.
Helena stepped out of the bathroom.
As she walked back into the master bedroom, she found Sebastian still standing there.
