He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 737

But Solomon didn't draw a final conclusion.

He was merely laying out the facts for Sebastian to process.

"Given that your daughter didn't survive back then, it's virtually impossible for anyone to live through that kind of surgical butchery. This Skye kid surviving is nothing short of a miracle."

Even Solomon found it hard to believe.

Not only had she survived the initial sabotage, but she had also pulled through a highly traumatic secondary open-chest surgery.

Calling it a miracle was practically an understatement.

"So, how confident are you about her case?" Sebastian asked.

"You mean her upcoming procedures? Based on the current files, I'd say there's an eighty percent chance of success," Solomon replied bluntly. "It's definitely a case worthy of my time, but I won't promise anything until I see the patient in person."

"Understood," Sebastian replied coolly.

Solomon, sensing that Sebastian wasn't in a position to speak freely, wrapped things up.

"Do what you need to do. We'll talk later. It's not like the surgery is happening tomorrow anyway."

Sebastian murmured his agreement and ended the call.

Helena's eyes had been glued to him the entire time, tracking his every micro-expression.

"Finish your food," he ordered, cutting straight to the point.

She knew exactly how his temper worked.

His word was absolute law.

Defying him was pointless.

So, she lowered her head and quickly finished the rest of the pork congee.

"I'm done," she announced firmly. "Now tell me, was that Professor Xander on the phone just now?"

"Yes," he answered without missing a beat.

"How can you prove that?" she pressed, keeping her voice incredibly steady.

Almost the exact second the words left her mouth, her phone began to vibrate.

She glanced at the screen. It was Claire Campbell.

"Helena?" Claire's voice broke through the static. "Did I wake you up? I know it's incredibly early, but I saw the email and just couldn't wait to tell you!"

"No, you didn't. I'm just... I'm just so happy," she managed to choke out.

"If Professor Xander is willing to take her case, the success rate for next year's surgery will skyrocket! We'll pay whatever astronomical fee he demands," Claire babbled on happily.

Claire genuinely loved Skye as if she were her own flesh and blood.

And for that, Helena was deeply grateful.

Claire quickly asked how Skye was doing.

Helena simply assured her everything was perfectly fine.

After chatting for another minute, they ended the call.

Slowly, she lifted her gaze back to the man sitting across from her.

He arched a brow in mocking challenge. "Do you believe me now? Or do you need more proof?"

As he spoke, he rose from his chair and stalked slowly toward her.
