Throughout the agonizing process, Sebastian didn't make a sound.
Suddenly, Julian turned his chilling gaze back toward Sebastian, causing Lance's heart to leap into his throat.
"Julian..." Lance warned, his voice tight.
He was genuinely terrified Julian might actually kill the man right there.
When Julian slipped off the edge, there was no stopping him.
"Keep your pathetic Hayes family drama far away from her," Julian ordered, his tone a lethal promise.
Sebastian looked up, his dark eyes narrowing slightly.
Julian couldn't care less about his reaction.
He let out a dark, mocking laugh. "Tell your beloved wife that I am not letting this go."
"What did Janetta do?" Sebastian finally spoke, his voice gravelly.
"Oh, now you want to know what she did? You were married to Helena for five years. That child that died—don't you know she was your daughter? Have you never once stopped to question the convenient timing of that baby's death?" Julian mocked mercilessly.
"Don't you want to know how Janetta systematically pushed everyone Helena loved into early graves?"
"Yeah, I'm the one who took Helena away that night. But did you honestly think there wasn't foul play? You think a truck driver just coincidentally swerved into her lane? Have you never bothered to investigate who orchestrated that hit?"
Julian advanced again, his words striking like physical blows.
"Your taste in women is literal garbage. And Helena's taste was just as trash for falling in love with a monster like you."
Julian finished with a cold sneer and walked away.
A heavy, suffocating silence settled over the corridor once more.
Sebastian stood completely still, unable to formulate a response.
Down the hall, the red surgical light burned brightly above Helena's door.
Her surgery was relatively straightforward.
Within a few hours, the doors finally opened.
The bullet had been safely extracted, and the lacerations sutured. She was immediately transferred to the ICU.
The lead surgeon stepped out, his face grim.
"The patient remains unresponsive. We cannot predict when she will wake up. The cranial impact is severe and requires continuous neurological monitoring," the doctor explained gravely.
